The only movie on the list I really did not like that I have seen is Supercop. It has been a while since i have seen it so I guess I should check it again, maybe I missed something.

You should definitely give 2001 a Blu-ray rental!

Yeah I know they're talking about "modern" movies, but those two are light years (a bit exaggeration I know) away from the most "modern" movies.
There are a TON of movies they missed if you ignore their criteria. You can't complain that they skipped those two when they are only counting flicks made in 1990 or later.

I've seen 80%-85% of what they have up, and quite a few I would not include on my list of top 500, let alone 100. Also, here are some of the ones that needed to have made the list (unless I missed seeing them):

- Tombstone. How can they leave off Tombstone.

- Se7en. Thankfully they have Silence of the Lambs, Memento, Mulholland Drive and the Usual Suspects though.

- The Incredibles. It's my favorite Pixar film, and above some of the ones they've listed.

- Spirited Away. I'll have to check the list again, but if they have Princess Monoke and not SA, the list is officially a joke.

- Friday. OK, comedy quality is highly subjective, but this movie was beyond hilarious.

- Miller's Crossing. There is no shortage of Coen magic on the list (Lebrowski, Fargo, No Country), but I think MC is their best film.

- O Brother Where Art Thou. Wasn't this the Coen's most popular hit when it came out? It needs to be on the list for the soundtrack alone.

Yeah but at least they dug out some unknown movies and placed them in there. Though I was shocked with Anchorman being in there!

Yeah,

That's a dumb list. There are some essential movies on there and then there are plenty of "also rans" on there too.

I was planning on watching ALL the movies before I die. I tried to convince my loved ones to set me up with some after I wad dead but they were really freaked out by the idea. Hopefully, I can haunt some nice theaters after I die but more likely.. not.

No list will be perfect as we all have opinions, I do agree that Spirited Away should have been on there. And Anchorman I think deserves it, it is widely hail as one of the best comedies of the last 20 years.

One more missing flick that doesn't even need to be elaborated on.... GLADIATOR!

Memento is perhaps the best "unknown" movie on their list. Everyone I've recommended it to has been impressed, but never heard of it until I let them borrow my copy.

Braveheart is also not on the list but both Gladiator and Braveheart have some critical backlash on them. They are great in my opinion but I can see why they are not on there too.

I know I love Anchorman, but it's still an SNL movie that's grown a cult. I just find it strange!

I've only seen 57-60 of them(there are a few I can't remember if I've seen or not). I definitely think they left a few classics off the list and put a few on the list that shouldn't be there, but I know everyone has different tastes so its a pretty good list overall.

I have seen 65 of those at least

It was nice to see Anime and films that are not from Hollywood on there.

My favorite movie Mulholland Drive made it.

I thought it was quite a good list

I was only bothered twice. I was shocked that O Brother, Where Art Thou? was not on the list. But only because I absolutely love that film. And I also don't care for the inclusion of Babe.

Edit: Oh, and I also think they should have included Krzysztof Kieślowski's entire trilogy, Blue, White and Red, like they did The Lord of the Rings.

Looks like I've seen 86 of them, what a great year 1994 was, and they didn't even include Clerks or Quiz Show. If I had to add one they missed it would be Ghost World, oh and The Squid and the Whale.

Leaving out Clerks is the most glaring omission I can see. A close second is American Movie. Both Clerks and American Movie MUST be seen by any serious movie buff.

wow. I understand (I guess) why Memento is on the list (although i absolutely hated it. every god awful minute of it!) but, Borat?! seriously?? that was such a steaming pile of shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.... i don't even know where to begin. what started out as a thoughtful, hilarious look at dumb Americans who know nothing quickly turned into a bland 'Jackass movie' with fat naked guys running through hotel lobbies. i guess that is "essential viewing"...

Both critics and audiences loved it. It must have done something right.
