My Library is Loaded with BD's

Had to take my 6 year old to the local library to get a book for his homework and much to my surprise there was a whole section of BD's. I can take out 5 at a time for 1 week. After 1 week $1 per day late fee. I asked the branch manager and he said they will be stocking all new releases and popular back catalogues. I still can't believe it.

I walked out with;

Goodbye Netflix, with the money I'll be saving I can justify to the wife why I should get that new Oppo player

Libraries are desperate to draw patrons, as many people now bypass them and use the Internet in place of picking up a book. Many libraries figured out in the past twenty years that home video and audio draw people in that otherwise would not step foot in a library.

Same here. It would be awesome if they had a decent blu collection since I drive past it all the time.

Wow! I work right across the street from the main branch of the Seattle library system. I haven't checked out their dvd section in months, but will check them out next week to see if they've started stocking some blus.

Cool! Your library have a good selection especially new releases. Gives me a reason to check out my local library too! It's walking distance next to the park I take my dogs out for walks every day.
