Default Blu-ray movie recommended for audio demo

Hi there,

First of all, I don't have much money for now so I can't buy all the movies I want. That said, which BR movies would you recommend to impress my friend with the AUDIO quality?

Spiderman 3 is pretty much reference quality audio. Any action scene is perfect for auditioning that sound system.

Agreed. Venom's screams and screeches are nice and loud. Love the PCM soundtrack on it.

Pirates 1 & 2 wouldn't be a bad choice either.

It SHOULD have been out by now (delayed 'till Feb '08 - DAMN YOU, FOX!!!), but Master and Commander had AWESOME surround quality on the DVD, so if Fox treats the soundtrack well on the BR, that b*%#h will make your brain explode w/it's awesomeness.

I think Black Hawk Down has a very nice audio track, too.

well most people really can't even tell the difference between lossless and high quality lossy encodings. I myself, a musician for the last 20 years, have been tricked on which stream is better a few times.

So....don't worry about what the stats are, just get one with lots of big noise and fun

Pre bluray/HDDVD I would alwasy use the matrix lobby scene to impress people with my speakers

Hopefully we'll have a chance to use that scene again soon, but on blu-ray

In addition to some of the others recommended, I'd recommend 28 Weeks Later. has some impressive ranges for sound. I thought it worked well.

Thanks you everybody!

I already have 300, 28 weeks later and pirates 1 and 2.
From these, my favorite for the audio is 28 weeks later..

I'll follow your recommendation and I'm gonna buy spidey 3 (I would have anyway) and black hawks down!
I love music shows and dave matthew band so I'll look and this one too.. and perhaps the Shakira show.. well not for the audio for this one

28 weeks later is SUPERB ... the DTS MA track sounds beautifully crystal clear with the small ambient sounds ... all blends well together with the killer musical soundtrack the movie has ... by far best audio track movie on bluray I personally own
