Default Leonard Nimoy to Retire

Quote:
In an interview with Toronto Sun, 79-year-old Leonard Nimoy revealed that he will not return for the "Star Trek" sequel because he's planning to retire from acting.

"Countless times, I thought it was done," he said about the "Star Trek" franchise. "I want to get off the stage. Also, I don't think it would be fair to Zachary Quinto. He's a terrific actor, he looks the part, and it's time to give him some space. And I'm very flattered the character will continue."

Nimoy added that his appearance on "Fringe" will be his final. "I've been doing this professionally for 60 years," he said with a laugh. "I love the idea of going out on a positive note. I've had a great, great time."

And regarding all those "Star Trek" conventions... Nimoy explained that he has a few more public appearances planned, but after that he's done.

The actor that made ST ST to me for so long, I will miss him a lot. I even consider Wrath of Khan to be the best sci-fi film of all-time, in large part because of his performance in it.

He has had a long career and will be sorely missed.

Was hoping he would voice a Galvatron character in Transformers 3 or 4.

Well he is retiring from Star Trek, that didn't mean he would retire all together. A lot of actors do voice acting during retirement.

For example:

Leonard Nimoy returns to Transformers!

As they explain on the Trek:TOS Season 2 disk, Nimoy has been retiring to his hobby of art photography--
Had an exhibition running through our local sales-gallery last month...He's no Ansel Adams, but as long as he's happy.

Nothing but respect for Leonard Nimoy. He definitely deserves the rest. I guess that means
[Show spoiler]William Bell is most likely going to die in the Fringe season Finale.
Most people remember Him in Star Trek and Fringe, but I wonder how many people remember him as the master of disguise in Mission Impossible?

Thanks for the memories Leonard!

Good for him..however it's a shame he won't be making an appearance in the second ST film.

He has had a good career, but will always be 'Spock' no matter what. I would have thought Star Trek 12 would have been a good way to bow out.. on the cinema screen, instead of the small screen.
