I noticed that sometimes while watching blu-ray's on my ps3 the voices are not as loud as they maybe should be. More so on 300 than my other movies, what would cause this? my tv is a samsung 1080p. Don't want to turn it up to loud because the background music is way louder than the voices.

It's called sound mixing.
In a theater, the isolated environment is conducive for a dynamic (quietest scenes to loud scenes) movie presentation. So the sound in movies are mixed for that environment. What you get on BD/DVD is exactly like that except now you're not playing it using a home theater system. Using a TV, the stereo speakers carry the stereo sound mixed-down from 5.1 surround. So you're not going to get to hear the voices/center channel clearly. There's no two-ways about it. You either crank it up, turn on the subtitles or get a home theater system. fuad |
