Believe me, I played a lot of it back in the day. I just couldn't finish the game though, for one reason or another. I've recently contemplated buying it on Wii VC and giving it another go.

That sounds like a cool idea. I'd really like to finish all of the Marios eventually, and I'm sure it'll snowball once I can finally beat the first.

Naw man the first one is the easiest by far. Piece of cake. Watch whenever u do decide to play it u will be like "damn this is easy" Haha! I am gonna download it on my Wii this weekend and get started. Then after I beat it I will have to go to part 2! Now that one is a bietch to beat! That is a hard game much harder than part 1. Very fun though. Got Em!!

Yeah I'm sure that it'll be a lot easier than I remember. When you play SMB1, do you go straight through or do you use the warp zones?

Here is my order of easiest to hardest to beat in the series:

1. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
2. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
3. Super Mario World (SNES)
4. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)
5. New Super Mario Bros. (Wii)
6. Super Mario 64 (N64)
7. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
8. Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)

Its been a while since I have played a couple of those but I believe that is my order of overall difficulty level from easiest to hardest. Part 2 from what I remember was pretty hard. Cant wait to tangle it again. Got Em!!

Ive beat it going str8 through each level and warping. The question would be what to do when I start it up again. I think I will just play str8 through so I can see all the levels. However on part 2 u can warp also and again with it being a hard game I usually always warped back in the day. I think I will try to go str8 through on that one as well. Make it fun right? Got Em!!

See, now you've got me wanting to go back and play the Mario games again. I always forget how many sequels there have been, and they're some great games. The only one I own right now is SMG, and I've put that on the back burner while playing some of the new PS3 releases. Definitely want to finish that one too, though.

Naw mane Mario doesnt take a back seat to anyone. Thats why I made sure I beat God of War III before Super Mario Galaxy 2 comes out next month. As great as God of War III is (it will be game of the year) for me Mario adventure titles come first. Got Em!!

Man now me and u have very similar taste. I love every game or series on your list with the exception of Mortal Combat and cant remember Manhunt to well. Also man I am drawing a blank on your number 1 game in bold. I loved my SNES but not sure if I ever played that game. I may have to download it on the virtual sys on the Wii if they have it available. Got Em!!

Manhunt has forever marked my mind for having some of the most gruesome deaths ever. I still have the image of a sickle to the groin and then just going up further. Horrible.

Plus, the pig dude with a chainsaw...images are burned into my brain, man!

My top 10. Yes, obviously I love RPG's and Nintendo platformers.

1. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
2. Final Fantasy VI (SNES) - originally called Final Fantasy III in the U.S.
3. Final Fantasy VII (PS)
4. Super Mario World (SNES)
5. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
6. Infamous (PS3) - My favorite game of the current generation
7. Soul Calibur (DC) - Greatest console fighter all-time in my view
8. Donkey Kong Country/Donkey Country 2 (SNES) - Tie
9. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
10. Dragon Warrior IV (NES)

Some very close honorable mentions:
Super Mario Bros. (NES)
Ms. Pac Man (Arcade)
X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade) - My best days at the arcade were playing this game in 6-player action.
Grand Theft Auto III (PS2)
Kingdom Hearts (PS2)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
F-Zero (SNES)
LittleBigPlanet (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Series (PS, PS2, PS3)
Metroid (NES)
Super Metroid (SNES)
Civilization 2 (PC)
Samurai Shodown 2 (Neo Geo)
Mortal Kombat (Arcade) - Ya, today the game doesn't seem like anything special. But when I was a kid this game ruled the arcades.

Very good taste and very similar to what I like obviously. If it wasnt for your love of RPG's we might like all the same games haha! I never really got into the RPG type games although I used loved Actraiser for the SNES. Got Em!!

Mine do change from time to time depending on my mood or if I just "get into" playing it again. But right now:
  1. Asteroids - arcade
  2. Joust - arcade
  3. Donkey Kong - arcade
  4. Galaga - arcade
  5. Frogger - arcade
  6. Double Dragon - arcade
  7. Phoenix - arcade
  8. Centipede - arcade
  9. Tempest - arcade
  10. Tron - arcade

I am still biased heavily towards the classic era of arcade gaming. I still feel as far as gameplay goes those simple, games have more entertainment value than most of the graphic intensive games that have come out the last 10 years or so. I have a list of 50 or so "classics" I still routinely play.
