Default Fox vs. Microsoft!!

HEY,

so I am not sure if you guys heard that apparently there is a beef between Fox and MS.

Apparently a Fox rep (HOME ENTERTAINMENT WORLDWIDE PRESIDENT MIKE DUNN) said last week during a gathering for press "the orchestrated campaigns of confusion and anti-consumerism fueled by an 800-pound gorilla that would prefer to force us all into the practice of paying tolls for the right to exchange information and enjoy entertainment." Left little speculation on who he was thinking about.

What i find it to be helarious is that MS knew that he meant to attack them by his statement, and responded for it. God Bless Mike Dunn for his WISDOM. We need more people like him on BD's side.

anyways enjoy the link:

I have no idea to be honest. But somehow Microsoft knew that MIKE DUNN meant them by saying that. It could be because with the 360 hddvd add on it comes with a free King Kong. and since its coming from MS that 800 pound gorilla is somehow associated with them. I might be wrong.

Did they actually say that? and yes i am asking the question seriously. because if they did, that would a proof of how retarded they are.

If you mean, what is meant by the term "800 pound gorilla", then it's a figure of speech. It means any entity that dominates everything around it. In this case it refers to MS which "throws it's weight around" trying to get its way in everything.

It, typically, means a big powerful brutish entity.

EDIT: You guys beat me to it. I guess I shouldn't have walked out for a little while before hitting the post button.

It amuses me that among the red ants and Xbox 360 fanboys, many claim to have chosen that side because they hate big evil Sony. So they jump into bed with that most beloved of corporations, Microsoft.

Supporters of HD-DVD don't realise that by supporting this format, extending the format war is ONLY playing into Micro$hits favour!

I just don't understand why people who read the forums and follow the news blindly, stubbornly and arrogantly support a format which I believe is merely a M$ backdoor.

This may explain a lot for you in regards to "supporters"..

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11..._flogging_ban/

Randomly pick a game in the PS3 section in most gaming sites or anything that has something positive to say about the PS3...check the first posting ..it's almost always (85-90%) a bash or it sucks or the 12 reasons why you don't want it comment..usually within minutes of the article being posted.. now why would even an xbot fan hang out/monitor a PS3 site so closely

Wow, what a crock. How arrogant is Microsoft to think that one game they produced is single handedly keeping people out of movie theaters? You have got to be kidding me!

Funny cuz this article is not too far off from the Michael Bay retraction comment. HERE

Toshiba Denies, Undenies HD DVD Xbox 360
Addressing rumors that Microsoft and Toshiba are prepping HD DVD-equipped Xbox 360 for late 2008 or early 2009, Toshiba has offered up two very different responses.

"It's got nothing to do with us," a Toshiba representative told Stuff. "But we know Microsoft doesn't want to include the HD DVD drive so as not to limit the user's experience."

However, the version of that story found on Stuff's official site tells a less definitive tale. "Toshiba has no comment to make on this matter," the rep said the second time around. "The Xbox 360 is not a Toshiba product."

According to Engadget, that first comment was later replaced because it was a misquote, and Toshiba's UK PR company, Nelsom Bostock Communications, has been asking sites to take it down.

What does it all mean? That's a great question. It could be anything from a Toshiba rep being unaware of Microsoft's plans to the company merely covering up a comment that makes HD DVD look kinda bad.

“Another fact to look at is the amount of Xbox 360 HD DVD drives sold, compared to all Blu-Ray dedicated players. As of the latest NPD data, the Xbox HD DVD drive has outsold all combind Blu-Ray dedicated players by a substantial factor.
Damn, I didn't know that....

I'd say Collins' FUD filled speech proved Dunn's points perfectly.
