Default BJs Blu in Stores

I shopped in my local BJs this weekend and they had a whole end cap display with Blu Ray movies and free pamphlets about Blu Ray. There was nothing from HD DVD in the store.

Cool!

So I gather "BJ" means something other than "blow job" where you are from?

Same here I was surprised to see the WHOLE encap filled with Blu.

Also note the booklet they had available to educate people on the advantages of Blu.
Also the only HD player they carry there is the SOndy BDP-S301!

BJs is a club store very very similar to Sam's Club

I believe they went blu-exclusive a while back, so that would explain the lack of HD-DVD.

They are huge in the Northeast, but they are starting to branch out farther. If you remember Zayre's, they started BJ's.

That's funny, cause here in central NC the two BJ's we have are horrible in terms of Blu. They finally started selling the S300's about a month ago and then they only stocked 3 discs with it. Casino Royale, Black Hawk Down and I can't remember the third. Since they've added two discs to their stock. Nothing that has come out in the past 6 months. What's worse their prices for those discs are higher than anywhere else. They Suck.

For those who don't know, BJ's is a warehouse store, like Sam's Club or Costco.

I live in South Florida, that one I want to was on 441 and Hillboro. My BJs was like above, until this weekend. If you go to your BJs now, you might see what I saw.

My BJ's started the same way...2-3 cases of a few Blu movies just thrown on an end cap. NOW they have an entire dedicated display.

It's certainly good to see.

The BJs by me in south Florida recently increased their stock and are carrying about 50 different movies and are getting new releases. The prices are the norm but it just adds another place to get a new release if you didn't get a chance to order online.

I just saw the BR display at my local BJ's this past weekend. I was excited when I saw it, but I quickly lost my enthusiasm when I saw the prices.

I used to work there (Club 006, Tonawanda NY Reprezentin'!) - in the hizzy for over 14 years... I also did work at other locations in Hamburg, Saratoga Springs, Geneva, West Syracuse, Batavia, Olean, Webster, Henrietta, Clarence.

The founder's granddaughter's name is Barbara something (not Jean), so it stood for Barbara Janine, or Barbara Janelle or something like that...
