The first film that immediately came to mind for me was Vanilla Sky, with the scene being the night that Cruise and Cruz first spend together. It reminds me very much of my ex girlfriend Ysanya and the first night I had spent with her. Ironically, she looks very much like Penelope Cruz. Everytime that scene comes on it's inevitable that I will think of the first night her and I had. She came down from NYC to stay with me for a week in Fort Lauderdale about a month and a half ago and we had some very similar nites. She's a very well known photographer whose work is featured around the world currently. Amazing chick.

Cousin Eddy (played by Randy Quaid) in "Christmas Vacation" reminds me too much of a life-long friend.

I asked people what film reminds them of me when they see me the other day, and for some strange reason they said this movie...

No idea why

Come to think of it, I've had days where I'm like this guy too. At times, I think I might be a berserker with a nerdy exterior.

haha yeah we broke up when she moved away because she got a full scholarship for photography at an excellent school. she's now dating a famous DJ and her work is all over the place. she's also a popular interview in the arts world. Amazing individual--just a great soul.

here's a bunch more pics:

And here's an interview she just did for the Sundance channel:

Coincidentally, she was wearing those shorts when she came to visit!

Those are some great stories you guys put up. To Jhiggy: We really do live in a small world, and someone who is relatively unknown at the time could prove someone that could be highly successful, that is very great to hear. This is great stuff.

The movie Talk to Her really had resonated me, and I though it's one of the best films of the decade. It reminds me of how we begin to love someone to where we want to be closer to each other, and I think anyone had that feeling at least once in their lives. It gave me the feeling I had when I fell in love with someone, not that I had someone to love, but how I would drive myself to be with someone. It does reminds us of the pains we have faced when we realize they don't love us, including the dangers of obsession to someone, the results could be tragic. The character that played the doctor's assistant for the comatose girl reminded me of my fantasies about someone I really loved to be with, but I learned to know when someone really wants me, which he faced the price for it. With movies such as Up and Talk to Her are some of my favorite modern films, not only as cinematic masterpieces, but as an experience linked to human nature with an appropriate sentimental view.

Speaking of pictures, I haven't mention this but that friend of mine I talked about, thanks to facebook, I recconected with her, and hopefully get a chance to see her. (P.S. I don't want to give personal information here, so no links).

When 500 Days of Summer came out last August, I had recently broken up with my girlfriend of 2.5 years for a girl that it didn't work out with... let's just call her Summer.

That ex- and I stayed friends, though. And in a touch of irony, I took her to dinner and a movie (my second time seeing 500 Days), we ended up fooling around again, and now we're almost at 3.5 years.

Hugh Jackman's representation of Wolverine reminds me of one of my brother's best friends. They are both beasts.

All a person needs is a chance, I've always believed. Unfortunately, too many people are not given a chance to succeed. Others simply don't want to put the work in. I really love seeing people achieve their dreams through hard work and a single opportunity that was taken advantage of.

Talk to Her has been on my list for awhile. That was a very well-written and insightful paragraph you wrote and it really makes me want to see the film.

That's awesome. While I know myself and the person I've mentioned will never get together again, that film really resonated with me as well. I think it's a very accurate representation of how we view our failed relationships. We all have a tendency to skew things to our liking, rather than being aware of the signs of decline.
