Default Marvel's Shogun Warriors/Gaiking

Quote:
The project is based on a 1970s Japanese anime series but was better known in North America as a toy line and Marvel Comics series called “Shogun Warriors.”

Jules Urbach is the man spearheading the project, which is using a technology called Lightstage, a next generation of scanning technology that already won an Academy Award for its use in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” (That movie's director, David Fincher, is big proponent of it.)

Director: Matthew Gratzner

What you see in the trailer is not the finished work.

We are building the robots life size. Matt is one of the last great practical effects guys in the business who can pull this off..The teaser we have now is CG for the robot. It is to give the fans a taste of the design we are going with, but it is not a true reveal given what we are going to be doing when we build the thing. The real deal is going to be mind blowing of course.

Awesome!

Will this be based on the old '70s version of the anime (Daikuu Maryuu Gaiking)
... or the 2004 remake (Gaiking - The Legend of Daikuu Maryuu)?
