Edge of Darkness (2010) Blu-ray

Original message:
Alright, so I searched and searched and searched and couldn't find a thread on this. It's very odd... So if there is already one, sorry for the duplicate thread here.

Did anyone else get this? The movie itself was meh but man did this have poor dialogue. I don't mean the writing, I mean the sound. It was incredibly muffled and I had serious troubles understanding a few lines. You could actually hear static in quite a few scenes. It's almost as if the mic was too far away and they had to amp up the sound and then applied a filter to get rid of background noise.

Will be watching it soon. It is in my line up of movies to watch, along with Crazy Heart and Nine.

Wanted to see it in theaters, but my wife didn't, so I had to wait. I love revenge movies.

Yeah I think he is a awesome Actor. His acting range is pretty good. Braveheart has been up in my top 3 favorite films for the past...15years...wow I feel old just typing that. I think his directing skills match or nearly surpass his acting. Apacalypto was awesome, and of course The Passion was an example of masterful direction.

Just finished watching this myself. I agree the movie was decent (not great/not bad) but the sound was awful. I had my amp turned up about 10 notches higher than normal. A couple times I even rewound and turned the subtitles on so I could figure out what they said.

Glad to know it wasn't just me though. As far as the movie I say a rental on this is best. Pretty good movie though, just not much replay value IMO.

Gonna watch it tonight. Rented at BlockBuster. Didn't think it was worth a "buy."

Update: Decent movie. I enjoyed it. Was worth a rental. Have to agree with the dialogue channel being somewhat low and muffled. Especially the dude with the heavy accent. Missed alot of what he was saying at times. Surround effects and LFE were pretty good though.

Same deal here. Glad it wasn't just us. It had me second guessing my sound and thinking something was wrong.

I can, Signs. And what do you know, that was the last major movie he acted in before this one.

If you have a problem with Mel Gibson, maybe a thread for a movie staring him might not be the best place for you.

I really like Mel's work both as a director and actor. He makes quality stuff. Apocalypto was a great movie.

Watched it last night, I ended up being very satisfied that I rented it. All and all, it was decent. Mel Gibson (as always) was spectacular, but the movie seemed somewhat bland by the time it was over. I got a kick out of the ending though:

[Show spoiler]I loved how it shows him going to Heaven, after he just finished going on a murdering rampage to everyone who crossed him.

I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. Not bad, but nothing I can't wait to watch again either.

lol I didn't even think about that! I just thought "yuck, this really doesn't fit this type of movie" (I felt the same way about
[Show spoiler]his daughter talking to him throughout the movie
)
