Can I really make money or get free stuff

I am going to be laid up in my bed for 4 to 6 weeks ( surgery) I have heard of making money online or getting free stuff by doing surveys and other things. I will be bored. Does anyone know or have tried doing this before? I know that there are hidden rules and fees on some sites but if there is a legit way, i want to try it. or are they all just scams?

I would guess that they are all scams.

There are websites that you can get paid for surveys. On average they're around 10-15 minutes each, sometimes shorter and you'll get like $4 per survey. If you're bored, just crank some tunes or put on a movie and make some money!

I tried a survey once that supposedly offered some free stuff. It ended up creating about 20 pop-ups and ended in an infinite loop with no way of confirming the gift, so yea, scam.

I've been studying a few forms of devious business that try to promise easy money. I may have to check with mods before discussing them tho.

My mother suffers from Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome, if I remember correctly, which has affected/disabled her higher brain functions (e.g., memory) to the point where she can no longer participate in the workforce. She just sits on her computer all day and gives away her information (phone number, email address, etc.) to these online surveys, and they just spam the hell out of her/the house. I don't think she receives much/any compensation at all for her time, but we did get two free-trial rolls of toilet paper in the mail last week...

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it...

The more i keep researching, the more it is apparent they are scams. The legit ones seem to be just a few bucks(5 or so).

Free toilet paper never hurt.

I will be playing alot of video games. All 3 god of wars ( never played them and wife bought all 3 for me) and my oldest son is ready for FFVII.

my roommates in college thought it would be funny to fill out ONE of those surveys in my name and put in my email and cell phone number, i started getting like 800 spam emails a week and at least one phone every few days trying to sell me magazines, it got to the point where i could recite their script to them, and at that point the guy on the other end of the line actually removed me from the list rather than just say he was going to, i had to switch my email address too, it was a PITA, you never realize how many things you give your email to until you have to change it

I actually do e-Rewards and don't find it to be a scam at all. I do maybe 2 surveys a day for which I earn "e-Rewards cash" and over time, I can cash in the "e-Rewards cash" for giftcards at Target, 3 free game rentals at Blockbuster (1 per month for 3 months), $15 in Borders rewards cash, etc. Most of the rewards you can by are rewards points or miles, but there are some other things that are fairly good...

However, I agree with the posters here... most are scams..

no dude they send you checks. my mom does these all the time
