End Of Days playback problem - Blu-ray Forum

Did anyone else have any problems playing this disc? Specifically, anyone with the LG BD390 player?

No matter how long I wait, all I get is a black screen.

I have more than 150 Blu-rays and I never had any problems until now.

It's a shame since the movie is a true guilty pleasure.

No problems here, however I have a Panasonic DMPBD60, not an LG player. I am assuming you have checked to make sure your firmware is up to date? Most disc playback problems are easily remedied with the most current update. If your player is fully up to date, its possible the disc may be defective, maybe look into exchanging it for a new copy? Hope that helps.

Errm, lets go through some basic steps:

-Have you got the most up to date firmware?
-Is the disc clean (i.e. free of blemishes and scratches)
-Have you any other player to try the disc on?

If its yes to all and it works on the other player, I would try exchanging the disc for another copy. I've had a few discs that worked on one player and not the other.

Yes, my firmware is up to date and the disc is clean.
I already exchanged it and it still didn't work so I got a refund.
I would've tried it on another player but nobody I know has one. Most of my friends have never even heard of Blu-ray

Just bought a new player yesterday (Sony BDP-S780) and this ****ing disc still doesn't work.

It plays fine on my computer though.

Well, at least the film is not very good. If it was something like that would have me calling Sony every few days until they got it right.

The latest firmware update from Sony fixed the problem. I can finally watch the movie on my player

I've had this on Blu-ray for many years. I traditionally only watch this every year on New Year's Eve. Well, it's New Year's Eve and now it only shows a blank screen. SOB!!!

What are the chances that Universal Studios releases this on 4K UHD?
I was going to reorder a copy on Amazon, but after reading reviews from customers, many of them received a disc that also displayed a blank screen.

I think a 4K release is unlikely, but this being licensed to another studio for a Blu-ray release is a strong possibility.

I can't see this one benefiting much from a 4K release, as dark as it is.
