Default Audio not in sync with picture

Can any body help me...
When playing a BluRay movie, the audio is slightly out of sync with the picture. This happens with any disc I put in. Not isolated to one time. (This is my second tv - I did not have the problem with the first one - and had set everything up the same way).
I have the BluRay connected to the TV via HDMI cable. The reciever is connected to the BluRay via 6 analogue cables (older reciever - no HDMI input).
My equipment is listed below if that will help.
Thanks

Try to disable the CEC Control from your Samsung TV display.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with CEC. How do I do that?

In your Samsung TV menu setup, under HDMI, you should have a feature that deal with turning your TV automatically when you power your Blu-ray player, or your A/V Receiver. It stands for Compatible Enable Components through HDMI connectivity. It is a bad deed in most circumstances, better to Disable it, as it creates much more problems than it try to resolve them.

Check, you'll know when you'll find it.

Also, check in your Samsung TV manual about lip sync issues, and under the last section "Troubeshooting".

* If you didn't have that issue with your previous TV, then it is from this newer Samsung TV set for sure.

Good luck & let me know if you find the cure.

Hey thanks for your advice, but it didn't work. I went into the menu and turned off the CEC, but still have the same problem.. It's strange because the problem seems to drift in and out of being in sync. Anyway, if you have any other ideas, please let me know

Cheers

Try setting the audio delay on your Denon. See page 16 of your manual or

http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf...033AV4802R.PDF

if you dont have the manual. Also see page 67. You can vary the delay from 0 to 200 ms.

Yep, I got another suggestion for you, try another HDMI cable.

* Your Samsung TV set's feature for the Control that I mentioned before, I think it's called HDCP (HDMI Compatible Components); you've got to disable that feature.

What might be wrong with the HDMI cable? It is a new cable and had worked fine with my last tv. Just curious. I will try this also. Thanks

Are you saying the audio sync is a problem when playing audio through your receiver only? You're not saying the audio is out of sync on the TV, right? If that's the case, then TV settings and HDMI cables from the BD player to the TV most likely have nothing to do with this.

Assuming it's the AVR audio that is out of sync, how is out of sync? Is the audio always before or after the video? You'll need to determine this in order to properly adjust it. As mentioned earlier, you should try to adjust the audio sync in your AVR, and if present in your BD player, you can play with settings there, also.

Hi Rick,

If you look at the quote from his original first post you'll notice that it is with his newer TV that the problem started. So we try to work from this important piece of information first.

Many things could go wrong with HDMI cables, one would be "not properly and fully engaged into the HDMI port", others are bend cables, broken ends, etc.
It is always a good idea to start resolving issues from this very first possibility.
Cheers.

Sorry, but that's not obvious, particularly when he references his audio running through a receiver. In order to assist, we need complete facts and details, which is what I was asking.

This is the second time you have felt the need to "correct" me, and it's not appreciated. If I'm ever incorrect on something, I'll be the first to admit it, but I certainly don't need someone other then the person with the issue to tell me what the issue actually is. You are simply "assuming", and you know what happens when you assume.

This site is great when one needs technical help and advise, and I have been giving and receiving it for over 2 1/2 years. Unless someone is giving blatently false information, it's best to use restraint and keep unnecessary comments to oneself.

Oh Rick, I ain't here trying to correct you or anyone else for that matter, I'm sorry if you felt that way. I believe that I simply try to work from the OP original post, that's all, without compounding the issue at end.
And I NEVER assume, it is simply not in my person anymore, I made peace with the higher inners of the universe, and assuming is not an option for me no more, fact.

I know this site is great (so far), and has a lot of very well calibrated professional people, and if I truly feel that is best to not say anything, I will do so.

Again, I feel very sorry that you misinterpret my post(s). My only true intention was to get to the point at resolving the OP's issue that's all there is and was.
I like to apologize too, because your post was indeed bringing more to the table by inviting the OP at looking at other possibilities, and that's the way I should have look in the first place.

Truly,
LOTR

Hey,

You wouldn't happen to be watching Saving Ryan's Privates would you? There's a recall for audio sync problems on that one.
