Default Cheap sacd player

I'm looking for some recommendations for a cheap sacd player. I shall be using it as a transport to a benchmark dac1 so I dont care about its dac section. Any help would be great.

What do you consider cheap?

If I'm not mistaken, aren't the new version of the Sony BD players SACD capable? Like the 370 and the 470?

*edit* I just checked sonystyle.ca, and indeed the 370 and 470 listed on the site are SACD capable.

I can pick up the 370 for a little over $200au. Do either have the ability to shift subtitles for blu ray films?

Yes, the Sony BDP-S370 will play SACDs. About $150.00 to $175.00 USD, and will likely get a little cheaper in the coming months.

The only players' that I know that can shift subs are the Oppo's. I'm not sure about the Sony's. Let me do a little more digging.

*edit* No, the 370 can't shift subs, not according to the manual.

Maybe it's worth while investing some more cash?

E.g. the Cambridge Audio Azur 750BD.

Also compatible with HDCD, Blu-ray Audio,...

Seems more futureproof to me, and a decent player either.

If not, try to find a second hand Pioneer or Denon at ebay??

My problem is I have a fair few sacd's and a very limited budget atm. There also hasn't been many blu ray audio release and I dont expect that to change anytime soon. Though if there was a player within my budget I would be very interested.

Are there any good future proof options within my budget?

Sony BDP-S370 will handle your needs: both SACD & BD-A. Probably the cheapest out there & has very good reviews.

I agree Sony BDP-s370 would be best/cheapest way to go. BTW - How do you like your Benchmark DAC1 ?
