Default PIONEER - PRO-1150HD ELITE Plasma...need some information

Hey just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this TV? I'm thinking about getting this or the 52XBR4, but I don't know which way to go. I'll be using a PS3, 360, and a Motorola 3416 HD DVR. I watch probably about 5 hours a week in SD and the rest will be BD or HD with a mix of gaming. I want to know some thoughts on whether I should stick with LCD or go Plasma as I heard this was the best Plasma on the market and the XBR4 is the best LCD on the market. Help me out guys!

Isn't there still the issue with burn-in for plasmas? Could be a problem when gaming...

That's what I was thinking, but they've made some strides with burn in protection and I'm playing Ratchet right now and it's full widescreen so I don't see why there would still be a problem. I know a lot of these new plasmas have the screen burn protection which shifts the image a little bit. I'm thinking I may stick with LCD just to be sure, but I need to know more about the Pioneer.

I think the problem is score numbers, power bars and the likes, stuff the stays on the same place all the time.
Anyway, I'd go with a LCD of the newest generation. Black levels are quite impressing nowadays and juddering can be solved with 100/120Hz technology. I havent' seen any with this option on games, but judging by the reviews it works really well (at least on the Sony so far). Since I'm not a gamer I'm probably about to buy a Sharp Aquos LC-42X20E

I meant to say it's full widescreen...sorry, but I think you know what I meant. Yeah you're right the power and and other HUD displays are probably an issue. Do you know anything about the Sammy 5084? I don't play games for hours on end so I don't think burn in will be a problem, but I think I'm still leaning towards the XBR4.

The Pio Elites are gorgeous tvs. I love them with a passion. They have by far one of the best pictures ive seen. You may have some issues with burn in on the pioneer, I recommend if u go with the pioneer give it a break in period of about 24 to 48 running hours. Also, a big help to prevent burn in on a plasma is to calibrate the tv to your living room, because out of the box everything is set at max to look great at a retail store. I work at the Best Buy, and there is a agreement amongst all the employees that the pioneer elites are the BEST TVs. PERIOD. Not to say the XBR4 is bad that thing is awesome for an LCD but PQ isnt close to pioneers. Just my 2 cents Also if you do burn in on a pioneer they have a feature called white wash which will literally wash away the burn in. its sick.

I've got the LX608D - which is basically the 60inch version of this TV in Europe. I was worried about Screenburn as I too play lots of PS3 games and watch TV with channel logos that remain in the same place on the screen for extended periods of time. I researched this on specialist forums and was told that this generally wasn't a problem anymore, so I took the plunge and can say that they were totally right.

I've not even had a single example of image retention, let alone actual screen burn.

As for whether to go Plasma or LCD, I'd go with Plasma everytime (provided you can afford it).

As far as I know this set isn't 1080p, but would I be able to tell the difference. For whatever reason I'd feel better about getting a set with a 1920 x 1080 as opposed to a 1365 x 768, but what will a 1080p source look like on this set? Can anyone tell me Dynamic contrast is? The pioneer has 10,000:1 and the XBR4 has 2,000:1. Is the contrast 1/5 as good or what? I don't know anything about this stuff.
