Gaumont has announced the BD of Werner Herzog's "Nosferatu - Phantom der Nacht" with Klaus Kinski, Bruno Ganz and Isabelle Adjani for September 2010.

If someone discovers this Blu-Ray listed at a online retailer please post a link!

As I understood the response of Werner Herzog Filmproduktion we can expect some more releases this year.

I can't believe that "Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes" (Aguirre, the Wrath of God) and "Fitzcarraldo" can be that far away.

Seems pretty dumb they would only release the German version on blu-ray. No buy for me as well then. Happy I have the two disc anchor bay dvd that has both the english and german versions.

I didn't even realize there was an English filmed version of this one.
also, it is disappointing that gaumont isn't even offering English subs for the German version, as they have included English subs on a number of their releases, and have in general been the most English friendly of all the French studios.
so this is very curious indeed.

Agreed - it's very disappointing indeed if there are no English subtitles. This is probably my favourite Herzog film.

IMO it looks nice.
Interesting that Bruno Ganz isn't mentioned on the front though.
I guess he isn't well known in France.

Boutique Gaumont claims only French subs and German DD audio and a French DTS-HD MA DUB, which is a bit odd, though they usually mention English audio/subs if it's included.

it is still possible it could have English subs because the Gaumont site has omitted listing such subs in the past on "le diner de cons" so there is still hope however slim.

For many years my favorite Herzog/Kinski was Aguirre, too.
But a couple of years ago it shifted to "Nosferatu".

I will buy all Herzog/Kinski Blu-Rays and a lot of the other Herzog fims.

My favorites are "Heart of Glass", "Nosferatu", "Fata Morgana" and "Aguirre".

Big disappointment about no subs but this is one film i might just buy anyway. Its such a great visual movie and theres not a whole lot of dialogue in it anyway.If the picture quality is good it might be enough.
