I have just received it (along with Beauty and the devil by René Clair) to make a review. The sound is in DTS HD Master Audio 1.0 and there are subtitles in english and for french impaired. Since Gaumont Collection titles are all region, I guess French Cancan will be the same (my copy is watermarked disc). From what I saw, it is beautiful. It looks just plain gorgeous, thanks to the mighty expertise of restoration lab Éclair. I have to agree with Svet that this is the best-looking French Blu-ray of the year, at least in the classic movies category. It's definitely on par with the best efforts from Warner so far.

And like most Gaumont classics, it's dirt-cheap

Overall it looks good but sadly it's showing crushed blacks. :-(

I generally find that it's best, when importing from France, to order from Amazon.fr and simply bundle a number of titles to spread out the shipping cost, which will rise in incriments of about 2 € per DVD/BD. Note also that Amazon.fr's express shipping, which includes a tracking number (and possibly requires a signature) is only about 5 € more than the Standard shipping.

I find it very curious though that I pay less shipping costs when ordering from the US than from a not too distant European country.
