Default Wife says I can have a new T.v now what?

So just recently the wife and I started clashing about the Tv since we only have 1 a (Samsung Ln52a650 Toc). I like playing games and watching blu ray's she likes Gilmore girls. So today she asked me what I wanted for father's day I told her a new Tv and surprisingly she said ok.

So now I'm excited but don't know if I should get into 3d now and buy a 3d tv and take the old T.v to the bedroom. I know shes going to put a $2000.00 limit. Then I'm thinking maybe I should get a 40inch 3d T.v for my room.My brother thinks I should get a new 55-60inch lcd T.v for the living room (hes really Anti 3d.I just don't know what route to go since I know I won't be able to buy another T.v for a long time son can you guys give me some suggestions.

i'm anti-3d as well.....i'd spend the money on a kick-ass plasma for the living room.

it all depends if u like the 3d or not, go to a local store and check out their 3d demo and if u like that, then go for it.

but i think a 40" 3d tv is about $2400 right now.

if it catches on, i'm sure there will be a couple of deals on 3d tv's on black friday.

i demo'd the 3d @ best buy and wasn't impressed.....but that's just me.

i'd say def. check it out before committing to buying one. the glasses they had @ best buy (i can't remember the brand) were huge.

and the ones you get @ the theater don't work on the tv's.

Be a man and buy what you want! I never heard such a thing a man asking his wife for a television. Women get whatever they want and we as men ask for one thing and that is our Home theater.

Are you a mouse or a man?

Go out and get what you want! Women need not apply! LOL

Its all good!

i'm taking it you are not married??

b/c any man will tell u flat out.....when the wife is not happy, you are not happy. of course i did tell my wife she has no say in what goes into my HT equipment wise. she has some input in everything else.....carpet, furniture, paint....stuff to make the room look good.

back to the op....panasonic plasma's are really nice!!! almost as good as the elite's were from what i heard.

I guess your allowed to have your opinion. In my marriage wife handles the finances more then I do because I'm not great with it. Also for me at least $2000 dollars is hard to just throw around for a new T.v right now so I was surprised she said ya. My wife and I have an understanding anything above $500.00 needs to be discussed.

Okay back on topic is the Pioneer Elite still dominating?

Panny plasma!!

I have a Sony LCD right now but I had a Panny plasma before that which died on me after only a year and a bit of use. I went to LCD but now I wish I stayed with the plasma.

New panny plasmas look noice.

I recommend this one. If it's too expensive get a smaller one. Or you could wait and see how much it drops by thanksgiving.

These are now the top models from Sony, at least that's what I heard. The XBRs are great TVs too.

I'll never forget the look on my wife's face as she wrote the $2500 check to Best Buy for a TV.

Most nights now I can't even use it unless we're watching something she also wants to watch.

I agree. I don't think he is. Acting like that would not please my wife one bit. I don't need the added drama.

You can get a nice 58inch Plasma (Samsung or Panasonic) for 1500-1700$.

Great picture, great price.

I just have a problem with that title you have. COmon you are a man! It just bothers me that some men give some much power to their wives. Men are supposed to be leaders in the house, even according to the bible. I know you can confer with your wife for advices and what not. but that title " My wife says i can buy a TV" it just really weak and un man like. im sorry
