I have my two channel system hooked up to my PC. So $500 for a pair of "PC" speakers is not really that crazy at all. If I was still gaming on my computer I would just get a good pair of surround sound headphones. As of now I just listen to music and watch an occasional movie.
I plan on continually upgrading this system. By the end I could end up with a system that costs a lot more than $500. I personally wouldn't go with the B&W setup but I have heard very good stuff about the Audioengines. The nice thing is they don't require amplification and I could get this big receiver off my desk ![]() |

While they are good and may be at the top of the "gamer" PC speaker realm, I dont recommend them. You can do better with 2 good speakers rather than 5 okay satellites and an okay sub. Imagine listening to music or movies with only the satellites with the sub turned off...CRINGE. So basically the best part of the package is the just okay sub since it does most of the work. I'd spend my money on the Audioengine A5
