Thumbs up

Tiger direct.com has a asus external for 149.99 and plextor has one for 139.99. if you want those two to choose from and internal ones you have to check which one is compatible with your sony laptop and go from there.

Default external burner

I am self distributing a movie and I need to burn blu-ray discs that will play on any player, is that possible?

Currently I have the LG Super Multi Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD-ROM Drive.
I am using memorex discs on Windows using either Adobe Encore or DVDecrypter.

All discs play correctly on my machines but others have reported compatibility issues. Particularly the Samsung BD-P1500 will immediately eject the disc.
I have updated the burner to the latest upodates.

Can anyone suggest an external burner that will produce discs that will play on any machine.

Thanks

Talking about burning a Blu-ray disc is forbidden here ~ I suggest you change the subject !!

He's talking about his own movie. Why is that forbidden?

Indeed. The sticky says discussing the removal of bd+ protection is forbidden. This doesn't apply at all.

The quick answer is that the burner isn't to blame. It depends on the type of discs used and burner software and settings used when talking about compatibility. One burner doesn't produce a disc different than another. One may have a faster copy rate spec or be built with superior components but that's about it.

Make sure you are authoring an HDMV disc.

Also, install the latest firmware in your burner, test blank discs from several different manufacturers and ensure the BD players are using the latest firmware.

Is there a way to use a internal bd drive on a laptop like with a sata to usb converter or do you need an external drive.
