Default Recommend first Blu-ray to see

So I have my TV, Blu-Ray Player, and Receiver (see signature below) and just found out that my three HDMI 1.3 cables arrived today. I'll be setting everything up when I get home from work. None of my BD's have arrived yet from amazon, so I'll be sure to rent one from BlockBuster tonight. Can someone recommend a VERY nice looking BD that's also appropriate for a 13 year old? I'm hoping for it to really make an awesome first-impression.

Thanks!!!

oops forgot about Casino Royale too...Crank was kind of a crappy movie but very good picture quality(I'm a fan of the main actor though Jason Statam (sp?)). The Condemed is also excellent PQ

Apocalypto is a great movie, but I'm not sure for a 13 years old. I think Ratatouille, Cars, Crank and Casino royale are more suited and really impressive

Awesome Response!!!

I'll have to make sure to purchase all of these movies. For tonight I'll probably rent Ratatouille then...Besides looking good, is it actually a good movie?

Don't rent the movie, just buy it. Beside being a reference disc, its a top notch movie. High definition can't get much better than Ratatouille.

Uh, I would probably take Apocalypto off that list if you are looking for something that is appropriate for a 13 year old. Kingdom of Heaven is also a little borderline for youngsters, although these days, they've probably seen it all.

PQ/AQ wise- yup, those are winners. Content-wise, not so much for 13 year olds (at least those are not flicks that I would want my kids, when they are 13, to see). I would wait until they are a bit older.

Just MHO.

Cheers!
