PS3 Update 3.40 Problems? - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone receiving problems after updating to 3.40 today? Can't even get into the Playstation store or Playstation Home as I get an error.

Some people are reporting that they loss Blu-ray capability. I'm going to try a Blu-ray right now.

UPDATE: Tried a few Blu-rays from various companies and had no problem with playing Blu-rays. Only just accessing the store and Playstation Home.

Home...check.
PSN...check.
Photo galleray...check.
Video editing...check.
Gaming online...check.
Blu-ray playback...check. Actually, it now plays a couple blu-rays that weren't playing before the update. So that actually improved my blu-ray playback.

And usually, the cases of update problems are not near as widespread as they seem *knock on wood*

the only weird issue I had was when I loaded up God of War II that it showed me having no trophies, but then I exited the game (after earning a few again lol) and resynced my trophies and it showed the correct # of trophies.

This seems to happen almost every time there is a firmware update. I don't think it has anything to do with the firmware update itself...it's just that the Blu-ray laser failure is so common that it happens to some people around the time of an update and they assume it's correlated.

this happens a lot... not firmware update specific....

I had the PSN/PSstore problems above, at first. That has resoved.

But, I can not sync trophies between PS3's. They have synced up to PSN just fine, but they won't sync back to the PS3's.
