Because of the nature of the film its not traditional. The little girl is not what you come to find in a real vampire either. Like in the classic vampire movies. let the rifght one in is also a very dark movie. The entertainment value is not there it is to depressing to achieve that.

Twilight is what you call a "fun" popcorn movie and it actually is not that bad at all. This movie do also not have the classic vampire element to it. The vampires in Twilight. The "evil" once in it are kind of humans with very pale and cold skin behaving like rapid dogs who likes to kill and drink blood from humans

Both movies are good. But the best vampire movie out to date is definetely Interview with the Vampire. A tremendous film

Agreed. I normally have nothing to do with vampire movies (not into the horror genre), but Twilight's vampires are nothing like the traditional type, so I enjoyed it.

Let the right one in hands down. it should not even be in the same sentence as twilight.

Twilight and LTROI are not even comparable. LTROI is a fantastic vampire movie while Twilight is Stephanie Meyers masturbatory fantasies put on film/print

I can't believe there's even the possiblity of a thread for this because it's such a no brainer. Twilight frenzy fools the general public into thinking that that is what good vampire pre-teen/teen/tween drama is about. It's an insult and a further excuse to "dumb" down the reputation of the honorable films to the vampire mythos. I am so sick of Twilight and the "Twi-Hard" fans...those endless squealing girls ("squeal piggy, squeal"), ugh. Everywhere I go there's Robert Pattinson's ugly mug on a magazine staring at me...that guy is sooo unattractive.

Let the Right One In stays "in" and Twilight can stay in the dumpster where trash belongs.

ha ha
suprised to see it back.
Glad to see people agreeing with me comment.

I just saw the trailer for Let Me In and its like a carbon copy.
It will suck so bad and then people will say oh look, Let Me In is copying Twilight. Like people on IMDB already saying. *rolls eyes*

Im getting the book soon to read, its meant to be much much darker then the movie.

I saw this last night, eh it was ok, a lot of info is left out there for you to piece together yourself. Worth a gander but I would not buy it. Looks great on Blu. To the poster above me, Twilight never ever entered my mind while looking @ LTROI. The movie goes into another direction completely

Let the Right One In by far.....
Stupid thread. Not even comparable.
It's like comparing Meet the Spartans to 300.

Everything involving vampires or werewolves is a copy of Twilight. Didn't you know that?

I'm not gonna lie, I like Twilight but I don't love it. When watching Twilight right after I had watched True Blood, it's a huge step away from vampires and I realize how much better TB is, clearly. There's so much of a vampire that they don't even CORRECTLY show in Twilight. I noticed they never even show their fangs?

Anything I know about vampires is from True Blood but I don't know if that's how a vampire is actually supposed to be. I've never seen Let the Right One In but I think I'm gonna rent it.

Your reaction after watching Let the Right One In was "eh it was okay"? What bit of info did you want more of? This film is a masterpiece and deserves to be placed amongst the greatest horror movies of all time. Just because a movie actually makes you think and insert your own conclusions here and there doesn't mean you should push it aside.

I don't see a problem with comparing the movies. I work at a video store, and I like to explain Let the Right One In as a much more mature version of Twilight with younger characters. No matter how much I praise the movie, only 25% actually rent it even if they're looking for a good scary movie. The moment I mention it's Swedish I can see their eyes gaze elsewhere. People seriously need to learn to be able to read while watching films, they're missing out on so many great films. They'll be first in line to see the crappy American remake I guess.

Check out "Fright Night" for the standard in classic vampire lore. True Blood is definitely a more contemporary take.

As for Twilight, I've never seen such candy ass vampires. There's no shapeshifting, "undeadness" or demonic presence. They just run fast, jump high, and glimmer in the sunlight like prince charming. They definitely don't represent the vampire myth that horror fans crave and love.

The problem with people comparing the two movies is this.

Twilight is a love story that happens to have vampires in it.

Let the right one in is a vampire movie. With vampires. Real vampires.
