Elf (2003) (Ultimate Collector's Edition) - Blu-ray Forum

Just in time for the new holiday season.

New Line (owned by Warner) has announced plans to bring a “double-dip” of the 2003 Jon Favreau directed comedy “Elf” starring Will Ferrell (which is already available on Blu-ray) in the form of a “Ultimate Collector’s Edition” tin Blu-ray Disc set on October 26th — just in time for the holiday season. The tech specs on the movie will be identical to the release already available, with full 1080p Hi-Def video and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound. This isn’t yet available for pre-order but stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated. The physical bonus material included in the collectible tin are listed below.

* 5-track Soundtrack CD Sampler
* 14″ Plush Elf Holiday Stocking
* 15 Gift Tag Stickers
* 5×7″ Magnetic Elf Picture Frame with 4×6″ Magnet

I love ELF and I'm a huge, shameless sucker for any specialized collector packaging but...no. Huh-uh. That's just we're-not-even-trying junk.

I guess it's a nice holiday bonus for those who are fans of the film. I'm fine with seeing it once a year around X-mas when it's playing on TBS. I'd say it's safe to say that the disk will be the same as the '08 release.

I think they are positioning this to fit in with the Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation releases.

I feel the same way. Love Sport Deschanel, but I have yet to upgrade and will certainly pass on this.

I'm getting it... I've been holding off on this movie for such a long time. And it definitely won't stay at $50

Lol. Funny movie. I can probably only watch it once or twice a year during Christmas though. I might picked up the set. I am a sucker for extras and tins

It will definitely be the exact same BD that is already available. WB's marketing department is horribly predictable in trying to cash-in with these deluxe editions no one but retailers are asking for.

I'm getting this as well. I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff and already have the other two. I'm pretty sure the price will be $30 when it hits the store shelves. Just like the other two.

I never fully watch the movie when it's on, but either last year or the year before I watched it probably 15 times.

I like it, especially the stocking haha. I'll probably end up getting both A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation also. I've been holding off on both of those too.
