Default Recommend a good App!

Format doesn't matter, just be sure you specify where it can be gotten, Apple's App Store, Droid Market etc.

These are all iPhone apps but some might be available on Droid:

Angry Birds (game) - slingshot birds of different colors and abilities into houses that are protecting green pigs in order to crush the pigs. Took me a while to download this even though everyone was raving about it, one of the most addicting games on the iPhone for sure.

Fruit Ninja (game) - wield your thumb or finger like a ninja sword and slice the fruit to bits, but don't slice the bomb or you're done. Simple idea, fun and challenging. The second most played game on my phone.

PinPal (sports) - bowling stat keeper. Track every leave, open, spare, strike, first ball score etc. Name a bowling stat, this will keep track of it for you. Have to enter each frame yourself but intuitive interface makes it quick and easy. For the hardcore bowler or anyone who loves stats.

What are your favorite apps?

It took me a while to get into apps after I first got my iPhone in 2007, but I've gone through probably 50-75 since I've had it. Some of my favorites include:

eBay
Pandora
Word Warp (favorite cell phone game ever)
Amazon
Dictionary
Wikipedia
imdb
Newegg
SpeedTest

I played a ton of word warp a few months ago, was one of the my faves back then. I've been on the fence about getting Street Fighter 4, it looks great, but 10$.... kind of steep.

I wish there was a way to see only the retina display optimized apps when browsing the app store.

Google Sky Maps - If you're wondering what star or bright object in the night sky you're looking at, point your phone there. The accuracy is extremely precise. It was daytime and I pointed my phone at the Sun and it was right there. Droid Market only.

Funny Pics - Does exactly what it says and they're actually funny. Unlike some so-called self-proclaimed funny joke apps. App Store only.

Amazon
Best Buy

Astro File Manager - great for Android phones.

Theres more, I just don't have my phone handy.

I wish the iPhone had the google sky maps, looks cool. I do have a planets App that lets me know where the planets are in thy sky. Shows where they are, when they can be seen and if they need to be seen through a telescope... decent

Just called Planets.

They might have others out by now that are more in depth but it has a good interface and it's easy to use. I like being able to go outside and say "There's Jupiter" people think you're kind of swell when you can do things like that

On a side note: It's friggin beautiful outside, so glad I'm off for the week.

I love Face Melter.... Fatbooth is another fun one, see what you'd look like if you gained a hundred pounds or so. Also agebooth is good.
Iphone only as far as I know.

^ Man, you've got a lot of apps! Are all of those still on your phone? If so, I bet you're digging the Folders feature.

Thanks to master_8ball, I am going to try the hoops game, as well as the mini golf one.

Great idea for a thread. Sometimes I pull up the App Store and I just kind of go "wow, never mind" because there's just so much (garbage) in there.

Really loving the way these apps run on the iPhone 4, Fruit Ninja had a bit of lag on the 3G (seems like such a quaint little gadget now) but runs flawlessly on the 4.

Angry Birds also runs smoother, hard to play any other games with these two on my phone.
