First few minutes of this film shows Willem DaFoe's winky and his bum.....then little junior walks in on the parents doing the banga banga.....all in slow-motion.....wtf?.....I hope it gets better than this.....

Did you read anything about this movie before seeing it?
Simply being called "Lynchian" makes me wanna see it. As a result, movies don't have to "have a point" for me to enjoy them.

Nope I didn't read a thing about it. I wouldn't classify it as "Lynchian", more like "trying extremely hard to be Lynchian, but not even in the same ballpark" to be honest.

As for the movie, I am looking forward to seeing it. I loved Dancer in the Dark, and will give Lars the benefit of the doubt. I am a sucker for movies that are dark, brooding, over-the-top emotional, and expose humanity's ugliness.

I just saw the unrated version of Antichrist yesterday, which is not available in the states. This is one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. I can't get it out of my head.

There are 2 scenes specifically that are just jawdropping, and you'll know what they are when you watch it. I can see why this movie got so much controversy.

I still can not recommend this movie to anyone. I understand that the purpose was to make you feel a certain way but I don't like it.

This is coming from someone who LOVES Martyrs.

It's clearly a movie that was made to provoke, to shock, and it achieves this in spades. It's definitely not for everyone.

Oh no, not this movie again. lol

I'll try to sum it up quickly from what I remember of it.....

Imagine if Rob Zombie went to film school and his grades were all C's, he becomes all "artsy", tones down the gore factor and tries to be all serious.......you get this self-absorbed over-indulgent piece from Von Trier.

I love both films. I thought Antichrist was brilliant, though some of the imagery was far too shocking and unnecessary.
