Default Which Grindhouse movie did you prefer?

Getting ready to watch these for the first time and wondering which one everyone preferred? Also it does not matter which order I view them correct? Which order did they go in theaters?

I'm not into the whole Zombie/gore thing but liked Death Proof alot.

No it doesn't matter what order you watch them. The stories are totally different.

I love all of Tarantino's other work and I'm a big Kurt Russell fan, but Death Proof did nothing for me. I could barely get through it.

Planet Terror was fun. It's always good to see Michael Biehn and Tom Savini.

Planet Terror came first in theaters, which i think was a mistake. id watch Death Proof first. i was so hyped up from watching Planet Terror which is fast paced and exciting and then Death Proof is more of like a slow build. both are excellent movies, if there was a choice in the poll to vote for both id pick that, i only like PT more by a little. they are very different movies and i think the style of PT can sort of overshadow DP. just my opinion and ive spoken to other people who felt the same way.

Planet Terror is the better movie overall, but can't touch the some scenes in Death Proof. I get bored with some of the scenes in death proof, but that's a Tarintino thing (the opening to glorious bastards lol)

As said before they are totally different movies, but overall, if i had to pick one to watch tonight.... it'd be death proof

DEATH PROOF is a B-movie made by an A-talent. PLANET TERROR is a B-movie made by a B-talent. I preferred the former but the latter may, technically, be more in the spirit of the thing.

Death Proof

This became clearer and clearer upon repeat viewings. Planet Terror "gets old." Death Proof continues to be an exciting, creative, slightly askew experience.

It's funny because when this came out in theaters most people on here preferred Death Proof then when the films came out on DVD they preferred Planet Terror.

I never saw Grindhouse in theaters, which I regret (they're releasing that version on blu-ray though). Seeing both movies separately, Planet Terror was far more entertaining. Tarantino took his love of drawn-out dialogue to soaring new heights in Death Proof. The acting wasn't bad, but I thought it was boring.

Planet Terror but I like 'em both. Death Proof is the better film technically, but Planet Terror is just so much fun and non-stop action. It's very entertaining and I can watch it over and over again. The first half of Death Proof is simply amazing, the second half not so much. The finale chase scene is great, but why did QT leave out Kurt Russell so much in the second half? Would have been way better with him. Also QT uses a lot of music in the first half and only 2 music cues or so in the second. So it kinda tends to drag from time to time. Especially when the group wants to test drive the challenger.

I initially saw the extended editions and loved Planet Terror. I felt that Death Proof wasn't bad, but was overlong and bloated and did not live up to the promise of Planet Terror. Watching the theatrical cut i felt that it played much better, and the flow of both films with the trailers inbetween was excellent, although I still liked Planet Terror better.

Planet Terror. Loved it. Zombies, explosions, and Rose McGowan.

Death Proof was really boring until the final act. However I've only seen the extended cut. Maybe the shorter theatrical version is better?

Planet Terror is one of the best Zombie flicks ever.

Death Proof is a forgettable road trip that hits the gaurd rail very early in the flick.

Planet Terror - Fantastic film.

Death Proof - So bad I nearly walked of the theater in disgust it was so bad. The film is literally an hour of mindnumbingly aweful dialogue with 15 min or mostly mediocre action sprinkled in. I can;t believe Tarantino directed this turd.

For me they go hand in hand, together as an ensemble.
