Ok wow they just changed the "Same day/instock" message to "Pre-order". That sucks.

It's a good thing we jumped on the train before that happened. Hopefully it will come out for the other people, who didn't get a chance.

Thumbs up WoW!

Ok, just watched Rescue Dawn and all I can say is that it was a great movie first and foremost.

The Picture Quality was easily a 5/5 and ranks up there among the top reference quality Blu-ray movies available. There was no grain or noise to speak of. The picture was free of artifacts and had lots of detail and sharpness up close and far away from the camera. Lots of lush jungle to look at and the POWs popped out of the screen with every little dirty detail. If I could compare to another blu-ray in picture quality think of Pirates, but with no noise or grain anywhere. This was a very high quality transfer with high bitrates..obviously it says on the back on the box AVC@34MBPS.

Sound Quality was great DTS-HD master 5.1 lossless. I don't have a full blown sound system so I can't really rate this that well.

If this is any indication of what MGM has to offer I'm really gonna get spoiled fast on the PQ. WB please take notice and make your transfers this good!

There were plenty of extras available for those that like them.

Thanks and hopefully it wont be long before a full official review.

Thanks Vol! I may have to even root for Tennessee now, except when we play you in a few years (Oklahoma)

Haha..no problem! All I can say is its a shame this movie didn't get more publicity. I know it came out in the theaters.....Hopefully it will get a good commercial for the dvd/blu-ray release. I have to think if all the reviewers at Rottentomatoes.com gave it an avg. 90% it's got to be good, because they can be brutal on movies there.

It was well worth the movie price and overnite shipping I paid.

I'm starting to wonder if MGM is making this a limited release with all thats going on with amazon and what not.

MGM is being retarded...if their transfers for the other films they intended to come out with are as good as Rescue Dawn they will be great.

Guess we'll have to wait until Tuesday to find out what happens.

Unfortunately this is one of the titles I'm having to forego for now. With Die Hard coming out, Superbad, Pirates, Harry Potter, and Blade Runner, I'm running out of funds! Maybe now would be a good time to be in the HD DVD camp . . . more extra cash for Christmas

I got mine off Frys.com, but they switched the status from "Same day/instock" to "preorder". So I'm not sure what happens if you order it now.
