Default Problem with Slumdog Millionaire

I have a Samsung BD-C6500. This is the first problem I've run into whatsoever.

It doesn't even load up. All I see is a blank screen. I've tried 4 or 5 times now. No luck.

Is it just a bad disc or has anyone else encoutered a problem like this with Slumdog?

That's the thing... my player just updated itself right before I put the disc in. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Still doesn't work after doing firmware updates and all.

I just put the disc in and all I see is a blank screen and 00:00 on my player. I'm pretty sure it's been over 30 days since I bought it, so if the place is gay about that sort of stuff I may be out of luck.

Could this have anything to do with my player or is it just a bad disc?

If Slumdog Millionaire has blu-ray live, it could be that that's acting up and keeping the disk from loading. Try turning off your Internet and see if it does the trick.

Yep, turn off BD-Live and then trade in your Samsung player for a Sony, Panasonic, or LG.

How do I turn off the BD-Live? Is that on my player menu?

I have no idea on how to do it with a Samsung, this is one of those situations where consulting your user manual would be the way to go.

Thanks for the super quick response. I may be shit outta luck with this. I'll try everything before returning it, but I may just have to do that... even though it most likely has nothing to do with the disc itself.

It's God telling you that you don't need to watch such an overrated movie.

I had the same problem with End of Days on my LG BD390. Even with the latest firmware, it wouldn't play so Amazon sent me a replacement. It still wouldn't play and they gave me a refund so now I have two free copies that don't work.

It may be overrated, but it's a good movie.

Damn, now you have to suffer through that movie experience.
That movie was one of the worst experiences I ever had.

Through it away until its not too late, save your soul.

Don't listen to the 'car chases and explosion' types here. The movie was excellent. Only the end credits was lame.

I've seen the movie four times before.

Twice in theaters and a couple of times at friends houses.

Marcus, you don't really have the right to say Slumdog is a terrible movie experience. You own 2012, The Incredible Hulk, The Golden Compass, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and the Mummy Trilogy.

You own The Hangover and your wishlist contains Armageddon, Clerks II, Click, Harold andKumar Guantanamo Bay, The Losers and The Girl Next Door so that doesn't make your opinion any more valid than his based on the comment you just made.

I just said he can't be complaining with movies like Slumdog Millionaire when he owns movies like that.

The Hangover is hilarious. Armageddon is pretty good. The Girl Next Door was actually pretty good. The Losers is supposed to be a slapstick action/comedy movie. Harold and Kumar is goofy, over-the-top comedy and I like stuff like that. Clerks II is freakin' awesome. There's that one part that should never have made the movie. Minus that, it's great throughout. Not many movies can rely on heavy dialogue throughout, yet succeed. I wait for most of the stuff on my wishlist to drop below $10, so I don't see a big deal. The movies I mentioned are way worse than the stuff you just mentioned, btw.

Also, have you ever heard of guilty pleasures or not being extremely picky and uptight about everything?

Nice try though.
