The Beach

With Leonardo DiCaprio was a good movie with a great storyline, and had some beautiful parts in it. I'd love to have this movie on Blu Ray.

I know it's like beating a dead horse, but anyone have any details on this movie's release to blu ray?

Don't know of a bluray but a 'friend of mine' downloaded a torrent of The Beach in 1920x1080 10GB superb quality. For such thing to exist then probably a bluray release is in the works...

It's one of the rare cases where I've read the book first so the magic I created in my mind was kinda gone when I watched the film. And the differences were massive which was also a letdown.

It was a good attempt but they kinda ruined it for me from half point onwards.

I enjoyed this movie and wouldn't hesitate to buy it if it ever came out on blu.

I never read the book, didn't even know the book existed. But I loved the movie.

Eh, if they followed the books storyline better, they had a chance and I agree, it felt apart the most at the halfway point, especially in presenting the inherent beach community corruption that the book featured from the start, the movie made it so idyllic. Also DiCaprio was awful in it. In fact, I think he won a Razzie for his craptastic acting in this thing.

The scenery sure is wonderful though. I would never buy it or ever watch it again though.

I haven't heard of any news on this film being released on Blu-ray which is a shame. I love this film, and I remember seeing it on VCD when it came out, as it was my first VCD nice memories! So this is something I would love to see on Blu-ray.

As mentioned above, there have been TV channels showing the film in 1080p, so I hope one day we can see this on Blu-ray. So who knows, maybe me might get one at some point?
