alien/predator - Blu-ray Forum

whats up guys? just doin some thinking, i was wondering when next year they will release the alien movies and predator movies. does anybody else feel they will release these movies on blu when the new alien vs predator hits blu ray next year? it comes out on dec 25 to theaters so 3-5 months from then hopefully we will see some box sets.

Yeah i feel this :P theres alot of titles from FOX i have in mind, im really hoping for Star Wars :P Daredevil, True Lies, Titanic, Aliens, Xmen 1-2, Minority Report. I chould go on and on :P

The original Predator is supposed to be coming to Blu in early 2008.

I'd like to see the original Ridley Scott Alien especially. This would be a great title on BD. One of the all time great Sci-Fi movies. A necessity for release in fact!!!

I am so ready to pick up the Alien Quadrilogy again on BD. Now that would be total bliss.

Lets not start out with just Alien and Aliens lets make the quick jump to Alien Quadrilogy even though I completly hate 4. I want to own all the films in one single swoop.

Titanic is distibuted via Paramount...so you can write that one off for a while.

Star Wars...well that's Lucas and god knows what he has in mind.

Late Q1 2008 .. all Alien and Predator and AVP movies on Blu-ray. That would be a pretty strong force for Blu-ray.

Yes. One fell SWOOP! I like them all. The third is my least favorite.

I picked up the Quadrilogy a few years back and sold it. I picked it up again a few weeks ago because I just could not live without it. Such a classic and it deserved to be had. I love the series so much, I will be HAPPY to purchase it again on blu with no hesitation.

Whatever they do, I hope they fully remaster Aliens. That film looks crazy bad on the Quadrilogy transfer. (And Resurrection isn't too peachy either.)

So much rides on visual quality with these films. I suspect they can be truly effective in high-def. And besides, they feature the work of some of the best cinematographers of our era.

Bill Hunt reported that some of the Alien films are in the works back last summer, so I suppose Fox will indeed tie their release to the new AvP Blu-ray.

Well Lucas and Spielberg are good friends. They own a certain percentage of the others' master work (Lucas owns a %age of CEotTK and Spielberg owns a %age of Star Wars) Hopefully Spielberg can help Lucas see the light.

P.S. I just saw Close Encounters yesterday (the Director's Cut) and it looked amazing!!!!!!!!!

I have a gut feeling that (at least) the first two ALIEN titles will be out in '08. Fox has said that the first PREDATOR is coming - hope they do the second also as it was pretty damn good. In terms of the two ALIEN titles, I hope they use seemless branching and put both versions (of each) on the BDs.

There could be an Alien box set released alongside the release of the Alien vs. Pedator movie about to hit theaters when it is released on BD. Of course Predator and P2 could be released then instead or in addition to. I beleive they will all be released next year. I can see no benifit for Fox to wait another year to release these titles.

These catalog titles will sell better than most.

Lucas will not even begin to work on HD Star Wars until there is one format.
