I was hoping to get some advice if possible.
I will be moving soon. I have a 52 inch Sony LCD (true flat screen) and a 50 inch Sony rear-projection LCD (LCD TV with a fat bottom). Is it safe to lean those TV's diagonally or lay them on their side if need be? Or do I need to ensure they remain in their upright position? Thanks much in advance for any replies! |

Yes, you can. Plasmas on the other hand...

Thanks for your replies. I've been reading mixed opinions on the Net about this. The general consensus is definitely not with plasmas. Some say it is safe with LCD's, some say not.
I'm thinking I might either stand them up in the bed of my buddy's truck, or just have the movers move them--but I'm paranoid about them moving the TV's. I'm really not sure what the hell to do! ![]() |

When I had to replace the power supply board I had my TV laid flat for a week. That's the only way you could ever get the back cover off. Wasn't a problem. Just be gentle and wrap it well when you're moving, and don't stack anything on top of it. And I seriously doubt that TVs are kept upright at all times by stores and manufacturers, especially during shipping.
