Default What do you think BD needs?

I think it needs... More 1080p HDCP Ready displays to start with...
It's quite a pity if you can't have BDs full PQ on your screen.

I think we need more movies to start with, then the HDCP's plus cheaper ones too.

" a customer goes to buy an HD player and visits the movie area. see's more BR movie over HD DVD and goes gimme a BD player pls. "

I honestly think that a prospective buyer will see that there are far more selection on BD movies he/she will think that BD is better.

Sending 1080p to the masses.

This can be done by reducing the prices of 1080p HDTVs to levels that the global masses can afford. (well actually this is slowly being done already....just need to quicken the price drops)

Once you have that, there would be NO UTTER NEED for those damned HD-A1 and HD-A2 players that don't even support 1080p.

I guess it needs to be distinguishable from HD-DVD:
  • implement Deep Colors
  • adopt 100/200GB discs
  • increase the bitrate from not being resized DVD
  • make future resolution, bitrate and layers ready players
  • start production at PS3's scales to retain the modest price
