I'm at my moms house she has a fiarly nice hdtv i brought over a few blu's to show her to try and wow her, i have yet to watch pirates 2 on blu are there any scenes in there that are just wow? or any particular planet earth, the blu's i have over here are pirates 1 and 2, shooter and planet earth.

I'm just wondering about particular scenes as i doubt we will sit and watch a full movie tonight.

The Pirates movies actually have what is called Movie Showcase (I think that's what it's called anyway). It's in the special features. It's purpose is to "showcase" exactly what you're asking about.

Planet Earth! Exactly 5 mins into the "Jungles" episode there is a scene where a tree falls over in the midst of a lush vast green forest. It is incredibly clear and mesmerizing. The quality continues to amaze for a few minutes. I always use that scene to make people feel how Blu-ray displayed at 1080p can literally feel like looking through a window.

Any water/ocean scenes are great for showcasing.

The most spectacular footage on Planet earth is Shallow seas 35min - 41min (approx). Maybe not the greatest picture quality, but for impact this is hard to beat.
