I am upgrading from a first generation Sony Blu-ray player to a LG BD570 to a Blu-ray player.
At present I run a HDMI cable from the old player to a Pioneer Home Theater Receiver and a HDMI cable from the receiver to a Plasma HDTV. To obtain the best video and sound from the soon to arrive LG Blu-ray player should I leave this setup as is with the Sony or run a HDMI from the LG Blu-ray player to the Plasma HDTV and either an optical or coaxial digital cable from the Blu-ray player to the Pioneer receiver? If I have missed something, how should these components be cabled? |

hdmi or 5.1/7.1 analog is the only way to get hd audio. your receiver doesnt look like it can decode true hd and dts ma but as long as your player can decode it, you can send it as pcm audio to your receiver. leave the set up as is but let your player do the decoding.

Thank you regarding the audio. What about video, HDMI from player to TV or player HDMI to receiver and then HDMI to TV? |
