Lightbulb PS3 tricks you may not know about

Don't know if it was posted before:

Quote:
The following are some obvious tricks worth mentioning that your PS3 can, in fact, do. Remember, some people might not have known these things.
  1. Play PS3 games from any country
  2. Reset your video mode by continuing to press the power button on the console when turning it on (if you have an HDMI issue, this is always a good way to re-establish a poor handshake).
  3. Tap the PS button to see your battery charge remaining (duh).
  4. Google PS3 Game Saves, save some data onto a USB, then copy it into your save data folder. Voila, you magically beat a game you don't even own!
  5. Six-person video/phone chat ... thanks PS Eye!
  6. Multiple page mode in the browser (choose to open a new window in the browser, then use L3 to toggle between pages).
  7. Easily upgradeable hard drives.
  8. Share your PS Store downloads on up to five other PS3's!
  9. Force a PS3 to show your files ... just stick stuff in folders called, verbatim, "VIDEO" or "PICTURE" -- if that doesn't work, hit triangle and choose "Display All". Though, if you're rockin' on Tversity, this isn't really necessary.
  10. Hand-in-hand with #9, you can change your album art for copied CDs using this method.
Fairly obvious? Sure. Even so, these are the types of simple things that you'll forget to explain to the less techno-savvy when showing off your PS3. They're simple, but they can be important when trying to prove how awesome the machine is.

Its good that its posted. There are a lot of new ps3 users everyday, and they may not be aware of these tricks.

I also like the ability to make thumbnail videos for your movie files that are saved on the ps3 internal HDD.

I was shocked when I discovered the PS3 would play visualizations while music played. (And not the cheap media player kind). It's great to have on while guests are around. Looks much better than having a blank T.V. sitting in the living room. I got a 65", I want something on if a movie isn't playing!

Here'a a poblem I recently ran into...If you're using TVersity as your server you may wanna go and disable all the steaming websites it goes and gets content from. The program creates files on your hard-drive that can be HUGE and it doens't seem to get rid of them. My hard-drive was filing up every night and I didn't know what the poroblem was. My wife (an IT manager) told me to search for new files on my puter and "alakazam" theere they were. anyhoo, I disabled all that stuff and now I am good to go.

You don't and can't. You have to create the same PSN ID that you bought the game with, including providing credit card details, onto the PS3 you want to SHARE the game with. Once that PSN ID is created, THEN you can download the game again. This works at up to 5 PS3s.

Obviously, you don't want just anybody to have your credit card info.

Default Set up account for other countries.

I set up accounts for Japan, UK, and Australia. The Japan account was a real challenge being wriitten entirely in Japanese but somehow I got through it. You will need a different email adress for each account(doesnt have to be a real one) and you can fudge almost all the info (i.e. my Japanese adress is 4, 4, 4 japan). Good luck and enjoy all the new downloads you will have access to. I am currently playing GI gallop racer, but dont ask me how you play it cuz I have no idea.

Is there a way to get your PS3 to read your PC hard drive via a wireless connection so I can play MP3's off my PC on my PS3? That would rock!
