Default Firmware troubles?

So, I own a Sony BDP-S560. I bought it 3 months ago......did the initial firmware upgrade when I first plugged it in. (Version 7) NOW in the last few days I've noticed a few titles won't load? Surrogates will play the trailers, then loads the movie showing the gyro deal spinning........then it disappears and the machine tries to load the movie. It keeps going for a long time. I left it for over 20 minutes.....and nothing/ Anyone else having issues with the current 560 firmware upgrade?

(NO upgrades have ever been issued after the first one)

He mentions that there are no more newer firmware upgrades than the one he currently has installed.

I wish I had ideas, mr.hidef, but the only thing I can think of would be to call Sony. Not sure how much they can help. Maybe you can get them to send you a new player! Or maybe you can exchange at the place where you bought it if it's allowed.

Errm as 'beefytwinkie' said, maybe you could try contacting Sony and seeing if they can do anything about the situation.

Also as a last resort, try turning off the BD-Live Option on your Player. It definitely isnt a guaranteed success but turning off BD-Live can cause discs to load faster with less problems.

You think that's bad, I'm still waiting for an update for TotalMedia Theater 3 so it can finally play Red Cliff Part I & II.

Actually, Arcsoft just released an update, which amongst other things fixes the Red Cliff problems.

Thanks for the heads up, though.

I have Version 7 on my Sony BDP-S360 (the lower end model) and it has no trouble playing all of my 56 BD titles.

I can't remember if your model features BD-Live or not, but is the player connected to the internet? If so, try disconnecting it. That's all that I can think of.

Hmmmm...UPDATE: just tried surrogates in my 2nd player (*BDP-S360*), also with version 7 and ALSO.......no go? Are some Blu-ray's having issues with only playing a couple of times? I had a copy of the original pressing of SHOOTER, and after I watched it 3 or 4 times, it wouldn't play anymore. So..I went out and bought another copy, and it plays just fine. ( I've watched it 5 or 6 times since I got the second copy).........also, I just noticed LAST NIGHT that my copy of the Mutant Chronicles won't play either now.I actually have 483 blu-rays and all play fine but those two? Both of these played fine AFTER I installed the version .007 firmware(latest)......

I tried that but it didn't do anything, so I e-mailed Sony today, and they told me to RESET the unit by simultaneously holding down the "power" and the "stop" buttons..........it still didn't reset the unit? checked the firmware and it still has the same firmware (.007)Go figure! So......I took the unit offline w/wi-fi disconnected......then re-connected it, and did the network set-up again. It quickly found the network, and I figured I would put Surrogates and The Mutant Chronicles back in for another shot at it and.......Woo-hoo! both play fine now!............can you say glitchy maybe? I have owned Sony products for years, and other than the optical block (known issue by Sony) in my SXRD (other TV).....I've never had anything so much as blink!............so figure this one out?

but now............................aaaaaah bliss once again!....
