A rapid blu issue for this unexpectedly good TV series http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sherlock-Blu...0824150&sr=8-2 Perhaps it would have been better had the release been delayed until Christmas as there's another episode due then but the extras include commentaries and the hour long pilot episode.

I would get it, but I know it will be mediocre 1080i50 BBC HD transmissions. In all honesty, I really don't know why the BBC don't wait and compile some worthy extras like commentaries and Christmas specials. They end up making waiting for the full series box set much more enticing, especially as their DVD sets often drop like rocks in price on Amazon.co.uk after a while.

In the UK, yes. They're most likely using the 1080i50 broadcast masters from the BBC HD channel transmissions, which explains how they are able to have the discs pressed and ready to sell within days/weeks of the series' end.

270 is about right 90 x 3, or 89 x 3 which is 267 minutes. Maybe it's just rounded up or has different titles sequences? Last edited by chip75; 01-03-2012 at 10:52 PM. |

I just got the S2 and have just seen the first episode. A very good continuation! But why is Mycroft and Watson working together behind his back? I forget.

When Moriarty was in prison before being released and staging the events at the Bank Of England, The Tower Of London, and Pentonville Prison, Mycroft interviewed him when he wouldn't talk to anyone else. Moriarty ended up getting Mycroft to spill some vital information about Sherlock. Mycroft made a huge mistake doing that, but was too cowardly to come forward to Sherlock about it, so Mycroft had asked John to "keep an eye on Sherlock". The rest is history. |

In the very first episode of series one Watson is kidnapped by Mycroft so he can gain some kind of access to Sherlock for his own ends. The two brothers have a long standing feud and aren't talking to each other. Mycroft sees Watson as a somewhat sympathetic ear regarding Sherlock and thinks he can use Watson (who probably thinks Mycroft is the only person he can discuss Sherlock with) to push Sherlock into certain actions (which he probably can't) or take on certain cases.

Just watched the first episode via Netflix and thought it was very cleverly made. Unfortunately they only have the first 3 episodes(1st Season?) right now. Was kind of hoping that it would have the 2nd season by now.
