I've found Assassin's Creed has got very repetitive fast, however. You keeps doing the same "missions" over and over unlike GTA which provides a plethora of different things to do. I'll be selling it to buy Uncharted. |

I bought both games yesterday and put about 1.5 - 2 hours into each. I think both games are definite winners, but I did have a bit more fun with Uncharted.

I think most people will agree that these two games are excellent additions to your PS3 library of games, and mainly that you can't go wrong with either of them....
I played the Uncharted Demo (someone bought it for me for christmas so unfortunately I can't buy it) and I had a whole lot of fun and thought the graphics were awesome.... I do however own Assassins Creed and the game is just truly awesome. I know that a lot of people feel that it is repetative, and it does get that way sometimes, but it is still a whole lot of fun. I have become addicted to completing each and every part of the assassinations so far and I am half way through the game and enjoying every minute of it... I think which one you would get first depends on the kind of mood you are in at this point... Comparing Assassins Creed to PoP is a little misleading because PoP was most defintely an adventure game with lots of action and platforming.... Assassins Creed can be a little slow on the action at points. While you can start fights and battle guards, the main focus of Assassins Creed is like being a predator... Its a lot of stalking your prey before you strike. Watching and waiting till the perfect time when you can casually sneak foward, strike quickly, and avoid the firestorm to follow.... Its a great game, but so is Uncharted.... |

Said it before and I will say it again. I am sure Assassins creed is a great game and I will be buying it, but there is no way AC is better then Uncharted. I would get uncharted if I were you as the controls are fun yet simplistic, the gameplay challenging, the graphics amazing and replay is high. I can't say Assassins Creed achieves the same in all those categories.

Depends on what type of game you like, personally I think Uncharted blows HS out of the water.

I'm mainly just looking for something wtih more variety. I rented HS, and was glad I did, because I got bored quick. Yea the graphics were great, and you could do some sweet moves, but I just found myself doing the same exact thing over and over. I'm hoping Uncharted is more varied...?

Well HS is hacking and slashing... Drake's is shooting and jumping.... again I think this is a matter of opinion. I was not impressed really with HS, but I really like Drake's. Neither game has near the depth of an RPG tho. |

Uncharted is AMAZING, fun and not incredible hard which I like because why hate a game that is impossible, havent seen AC yet but it looks pretty good. I was questionable when playing the Unchartered demo but the game as exceeded my expectations. Next must have is Time crisis, graphics look OK but having your own personal arcade game in your house.....siac

I'd go with uncharted. I haven't played uncharted or assassin's creed, but I'm feeling nothing for assassiin's creed.
However, I'm hesistating on uncharted until I get an idea of how often the screen tearing occurs. Right now, no one has shed some light on that, so I'm not buying. Does it occur once every 2 minute? Once every 30 minutes?? I have my tolerance levels, and too much tear means that I won't buy it no matter how enjoyable it is. And it's my money. I'm not wasting it on half assed decisions to allow screen tear rather than reduce the clutter on screen or whatever is going on. What's the point of spending hours putting up painstaking make up and hairstyling a pretty girl and putting an intricate dress on her if you're going to decide to take a knife and slash her face later on. I'd prefer less make up and a cow lick on a pretty unslashed face, thanks. I have COD4 for almost three weeks now, and I haven't touched it yet. If I can hold out on that game, I can definitely ignore Uncharted if I have to. Quite frankly, I think the developers made the wrong decision in forcing themselves to choose between crappy framrates or screen tear. They should've done what other developers did -- like those on COD4 or Ratchet & Clank and dumb down the graphics and clutter a bit here and there or whatever they did to avoid screen tear (see how that rhyms?). I know Uncharted is my kind of game. I like it even before playing it. But NO until I either can overcome the screen tearing or find out that the amount of screen tear is within my tolerance level. I have enough games. I don't need another one that's not to my tolerance level. And yes, Resistance Fall of Man 2 should be coming out in around 9 more once. |

There has been lots of talk on what title is better Assassins or Uncharted. Does it really matter because everyone has there opinions. Well yesterday I sent my mom to pick me up Uncharted but it was sold out. I had a second game on my list and you know what it was. Later on last night I went by to pick my copy of assassins creed and came home to play it. It has great graphics, good gameplay, alright story and once again good gameplay. I played it about 2 hours last night, today I played it about 2 more hours the first time I played today. The second time I put it in for a couple more hours it froze two times in a row. Then the third time it started to act funny like in slow motion. It makes me so mad because this costed me $60.00 + TAX.
I will be mad if it does this the next time I try it. I am getting Uncharted when it comes back in stock. Assassins Creed is a great game and I will recommend it. Just be on on the look out for a couple freezes. 32" lcd VIZIO 720p/1080i 80gb PS3 / Blu-ray player 4 PS3 games / 4 Blu-ray discs ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by tru_to_blu; 12-02-2007 at 06:17 AM. Definitely Uncharted. Like many others have said, Assassin's Creed gets repetitive way too fast. There are some cool bits in AC, like the party (a good twist to break the monotony), but overall, it's just gather intel, assassinate, repeat. Uncharted has a lot of variety even amongst the many shootings. There are some things you'll even only encounter in one chapter (like balancing across the wooden bridge in the demo). Uncharted even has replay value with the reward, medal, and treasure system. In AC, collecting the flags doesn't really do anything for the player. I think the choice is obvious.
Mind you, AC has some good things up its sleeve like interactivity with the environment; that aspect is the most dynamic of its kind I have seen so far. The landscapes are beautiful and the leap of faith is fun. Because the game takes long to complete, though, it's not a rent title. AC is a buy-it-used game (wish I'd known that before I got the limited edition). Keeping it in the collection is another topic (I'm keeping mine, of course). Oh, as for Heavenly Sword... c'mon, that game kicks ass! It was just too short and too linear, that's all. I'd say it's a little bit above bit above AC in ranking. |

sorry but that's the funniest thing I've seen today
![]() anyway I've read all the replies, but I really like the exploration and free-running in AC (like Prince of Persia), so hows is the exploration in Uncharted? I played the demo and it seems quite linear. I'm surprised no ones mentioned this. |

The only reason it takes so long to finish Assassin's Creed is because you can't skip any of the cinematics. Yes, the game is very repetitive and it doesn't really get too difficult the further you go along...just more annoying because you have to hack and slash your way through more guards or run for longer until you can hide. I didn't care for the story at all either (which is more repetitive than the gameplay). I finished the game leisurely playing it over a couple of days. Worth a rent but nothing more.
I've only played the Uncharted demo but based on that one level, I'd consider it a buy over Assassin's Creed any time. |
