Default Top 25 favorite bands

It's too difficult to just do a top 10 favorites, because I listen to lots of music. So I figured I'd give a chance to list up to 25 of your favorite bands or groups/singers out there. Here's mine:

Top 25 favorite bands:
1. Shinedown
2. Breaking Benjamin
3. Chevelle
4. Tool
5. Staind
6. Disturbed
7. Seether
8. Three Days Grace
9. Mudvayne
10. Muse
11. Audioslave
12. Foo Fighters
13: 30 Seconds to Mars
14: Death Cab for Cutie
15: Incubus
16: Alice in Chains
17: Korn
18: Rage Against the Machine
19: Papa Roach
20: Linkin Park
21: Blue October
22: Nine Inch Nails
23: Red Hot Chili Peppers
24: Avenged Sevenfold
25: System of a Down

Although you have a really cool list there with some terrific bands, none of them would actually make it into a TOP 25 of mine. I'll try and give some thought as to what my list would look like and post it later. Does it have to be "bands" or can it be solo artists as well?

The Beatles
Pink Floyd

These 2 are definitely my Top 2 and will always remain there. For the next 23...here I go (in no order).

Supertramp
Marvin Gaye
Genesis
Peter Grabriel
Kate Bush
Rickie Lee Jones
John Lee Hooker
Mike Oldfield
Harmonium
Fiori-Seguin
Dire Straits
Neil Young
Eric Clapton
Stevie Ray Vaughan
The Beach Boys
The Rolling Stones
Steve Winwood
Santana
Jack Johnson
The The
Tears For Fears
The Tragically Hip
Annie Lennox
The Cranberries
Steely Dan
The Eagles
Jimi Hendrix
Ry Cooder

Now that was tough as there are so many more bands/artists than I enjoy. I think once you go past 5 (maybe 10) it gets more hazy and difficult to pin down.

Agreed there John, top 10 is hard enough but easier to pin down.

Here are some kind of order

Pink Floyd (and Gilmour stuff)
Deep Purple (and everything Blackmore)
SRV
Rush
Jimi Hendrix
Robin Trower
Umphrey's Magee
Genesis (Gabriel era)
Queen
Tragically Hip
Dire Straits
Van Halen (in his goood ole days)
Led Zeppelin
Alan Parsons
ZZ Top
Lynird Skynird
The Doors
Yes
and at this point it would be easy to go on with bands that I like a lot. My first 10 are pretty much my top ten as of now.

I think that Alan Parsons is a craving, you forget about him for a while, then somehow you hear something that reminds you of him, and Voila, you gotta go through the entire discography, that's kinda how it is for me anyways.

Led Zeppelin will always be a favorite of mine, but if I really think deep down what type of music I love the best, it's mostly generational music, stuff I grew up listening to that will make my top 25. Nirvana didn't make it up there, not because they weren't a great band. Just not my cup-o-tea. I'm much more of a Foo Fighters fan.
