Default How sad it would be...

How sad it would be if we all waited patiently, some over-anxiously, for the Transformers BD release and it comes out without PCM lossless sound. LIke they got lazy and just transfered over the hd dvd version just like warners does. Oh, man Paramount would seriously have a riot on its hands.

You think they'd try to stick it to us, once more with feeling?

It's always possible.

I mean I guess I'm being optimistic if i think paramount's gonna go blu next year, but i would be on it. And when they go blu we will get TF. But we wouldn't even be able to show off bd's superiority without pcm. It would just be a shame.

No thanks, I like movies with a plot and interesting characters.

"With Transformers, director Michael Bay has once again claimed the year’s top honors for loud, stupid filmmaking," Rex Reed - The New York Observer.
"I challenge you to name another movie about an alien robot come to save the world while disguised as a yellow Camaro. Isn't it just an intergalactic Herbie the Love Bug?," Kyle Smith - New York Post.
"Though he has a way with CGI toys and action set pieces, director Bay does not have a noticeable gift for making human beings come to life. Transformers' multiple earthling story lines are tedious and oddly lifeless," Kenneth Turan - Los Angeles Times.
Stop encouraging Hollywood to give us movies with special effects and twists, with no freakin plot.
To be fair, I am a man and this movie wasn't intended for adults.

plot or not it would be an awesome experience on bd with pcm. Just like fantastic four rise of the silver surfer. Really fun with a kickass Home Theatre.

It just grinds my gears that a masterpiece like Close Encounters of the Third Kind hardly gets any notice, but a mindless piece of drivel gets top seller of the year.

Really though. I honostly don't get all the hype about close encounters. I wasn't really impressed. Don't get me wrong. In no way am I saying TF is better. It's just Close Encounters really didn't do it for me.

You obviously have never taken a gander at Ms. Megan Fox.

We all have movies we like or don't like. I saw Transformers and while I found it to be a lot better than I thought it would be, to me it didn't justify any of the hype. On the other hand I highly enjoy Close Encounters. Beneath the ET element of the story it invloved a man willing to leave his family and everything behind to know more about the universe. It had more of a humane story behind it, which made it more appealing to audiences as well as critics. Spielberg is a far better story teller in my opinion than Bay, who relies on flash to sell his movies. On a side note when Close Encounters came out the visual effects were ahead of their time much like Star Wars, which used no CGI.

Ok. I can accept that. I would agree with you about Speilberg being a better storyteller. I've only seen CE once, and I was interrupted quite a few times. Maybe I'll give it another chance.

Darkpoet, You speak evenhandedly and it's a pleasure to know that someone actually has an opinion that doesn't smack someone in the face. You're good for BD. keep it up.

I am not to disappointed with titles that I don't really love. But for titles such as DISNEY CLASSICs, PCM is a must or else, I'd be disappointed.

Don't care if they came out with Transformers on BD because the movie stunk (I can still smell the stupidity of it now!)
