I've purchased a number of BD's (about 20) and most of them have been very good. Some didn't impress at all and I should have just bought the regular DVD version, but that happens!
Anyway, on to my choice for a reference BD! This film just blew me away in terms of both audio and video quality. My choice is: DAVE MATTHEWS: Live At Radio City Music Hall Everything about this concert film is 5-Star and its going to have a lot of views in the years to come. It felt like Dave and Tim were in my freagin' living room! Wow! Stunning! Spectacular! |

Have you ever been to a D+T show or DMB show...at the Amphitheatre maybe? I've seen DMB 33 times all across North America since November 1998 at Maple Leaf Gardens, but have yet to get to a D+T show. |

Dave Matthews is a damn good looking guy and unlike some folk, he looks even better in high definition. At least that's what I gather from my fiancee and some of her fellow Dave Matthews' adorers constant ooohs and aaahs and "damn he so sexy" comments throughout the Blu-ray presentation. Me, yeah I think the guy is incredibly good looking, but it's the audio I was most interested in on this disc and the TrueHD 24/96 track is absolutely stunning. I can honestly say I have no heard any other HDM disc that sounds this good. I have to reach into my SACD and DVD-Audio titles to get something that compares to this disc. I only wish SonyBMG had put this out as a hybrid SACD as well as a Blu-ray and DVD. I'm also pissed off to see the new DMB DVD from a September 2007 show (Live at Piedmont Park), "shot in high definition", is only being released on DVD and CD. |
