It may not be as old as OSU and Michigan, but it's hard to argue that any rivalry in North American sports is more tense than the BoSox and Yankees.

i'd agree if either team were ever good. it might be one of the longest, but its for sure, not the best.

sox and yanks tho. IF there is a bigger rivalry, its that one. but i hate both teams so i'll just pretend its not even real haha

I once tried to relate how much "hatred" there was between the State of Michigan and the State of Ohio with respect to this rivalry to someone from India. It does not come close to the rivalries described back, where is was common practice to physically kill the enemy, instead of just make fun of them.

I gotta wonder though since Europeans are so insanely maniac about Soccer, if there is a rivalry over there that just puts shame to any set of American team rivalries.

Auburn/Alabama is probably another one. Everyone down there was on one side or the other, and it had nothing to do with attending school.

I would say Yankees/Red Sox is the biggest Rivalry in sports.

What about Cal - Stanford? Not just in sports, but the competition is in all areas of life after school, especially in the Silicon Valley, which was essentially founded in the backyard of these two schools largely by alumni of these two schools.

Besides, which rivalry will have "the band" mentioned every time someone almost runs a kickoff back for a touchdown?

enjoy

There are big rivalries but none bigger than Ohio vs Michigan. Clearly this is the instance you must go RED.
