I just bought my copy at the Best Buy (in Canada) for $9.99 and it's 1080p
throughout entire movie. |

In theory either the 1080i or the 1080p version should look better than the dvd (480p). I'm pretty sure the uk release is the one with lossless audio. The i in 1080i stands for interlaced. This means that your tv is displaying half of the 1080 at a time (it's actually another number but 1080 is the number written and spoken) and then the other half after. This happens too fast for the human eyes to see. The p in 1080p stands for progressive. This means the tv is displaying 1080 vertical lines of resolution all at the same time. This is said to produce a smoother image. This is why a 720p tv can only show 1080i and not 1080p. It does not have 1080 lines to show at once. Either way T3 has a good price point.

Does the UK version still have all the extras, like the PiP track? I have no clue why, but I've been waiting for a re-release of this for some reason. I'd like to finally pick this up and want to know what the best version is. Thanks in advance!

Yes, the UK version has all of the extras, including the PiP track. The AVC transfer has an average bitrate of about 27 mbps while the US version has a 13.5 mbps transfer and of course the TrueHD track is a big improvement over the standard DD on the US disc. You can import it for $17.25 USD.

Wow, that's a whole lot better than the US version. I actually have never seen Terminator 3 and am looking forward to finally doing so.
(By the way, this is my 2,000th post here. Thank you all so much for being such a great community! Too bad this thread isn't big enough, so probably no one will see this.) Last edited by Freekman; 09-06-2010 at 05:56 PM. |
