Good BD disc? Yes.

Agree with JTK on both counts, although my wife likes the movie.

Post My opinion

I got this from Netfilx a couple of weeks ago.

It's PQ and SQ are excellent. I like some musicals (liked Chicago) but this one really didn't appeal to me. The sets, casting, cinematography, and story are all good. I guess the part I didn't like was the music. That's just my taste though.

Emmy Rossum is beautiful and looks wonderful in HD. That's all I can say for Phantom. Although I do have to admit I sort of like that 'Music of the Night' song.

Default Phantom

Saw Phantom on Broadway on New Years Eve (after curtain calls the cast sang Aude Lang Syne to us).

The movie greatly pales in comparison, IMO.

Haven't seen the Blu-ray transfer yet.

(The book is a classic.)

I'm not a big musical fan, but this is one of the few that I do enjoy. I have this disk and have watched it several times. Including screening it at my Christmas party this year.

The PQ is great and really shows the details of the opera house, and the detailed work on the costumes. And the AQ is also great.
