Default Stolen TV, Need Suggestions for Replacement

My house was broken into during the Labor Day weekend. They took the TV, PS3, Xbox 360, computers, passports, and the car. Now that it's gone, I will need to replace the TV and I would prefer to replace it with the same brand, Samsung. I am looking for something in between 40-46 inches and between $700-1000. I saw the LN40B750 and was pretty interested. There was a pretty decently priced LED TV for $849 and I'm not sure if that would be good. If there are other suggestions besides these, please let me know. Another brand name that is comparable to something I suggested is fine too.

Car found. I also gave the serial number of the PS3 to the cops, any help? Thanks.

Update: Right now, I think I might step up to a 46" TV. The LN46B750 may be good, but I could get the LN46C750 for around the same price as that. Any opinions on that? I know it's 3D, but I may not go right into the 3D yet until the glasses get cheaper. The B750 is about $1200 and the C750 is between $1100-1300.

This is just a side note out of the topic but, for those living in the Bay Area, if you happen to find a red 2001 BMW 325ci convertible with the license plate SIEW328... let me know. I also gave the serial number of the PS3 to the cops, any help? Thanks.
Sorry to hear of your loss. Glad I have noisy dogs and nephews and and ex Marine Sgt. that lives next door who I'm good friends with!

Yeah that sucks glad i have a 150# rottweiler, his looks alone i can leave the house wide open and no one will dare come in. To bad he is just a big lap dog that drools. Anyway, go bigger if you can you won't regret it.

Even though its a 2009 model, is the LN40B750 a good buy or one of those under $1000 Samsung LED tvs better?

By the way, the car was found just an hour ago.

Don't you have home owners insurance? You should be good. Try Fry's they
had a 55' led the other day for $1199.00

I am so very sorry for what has happened to you. I do hope that you can recouperate some of the items that were stolen. I happen to have the Panasonic Viera 50" Plasma and the picture is quite beautiful. Perhaps you should consider it, and you know that with new technology being developed, the prices on a plasma TV have come down.

On a side note: James Cameron used the Panasonic Viera Series when creating the movie Avatar and as you know, that film is incredibly beautiful.

I want to wish you all the best in your pursuit of replacing the items you lost.

Wow what such low lives, it pisses me off people can't earn this stuff on their own so they just got to steal it because they will never amount to anything in life so they got to make others miserable. But hopefully they find everything for you because i know i would be sick if i ever got robbed because they would have a field day in my house as well.

I had my 52inch Sony stolen last Nov so I feel your pain. If you have homeowners insurance they should be able to cover the cost of a replacement for you, my insurance company did. Its crap when people have to steal from you and its because as someone already said and thats that they are lowlifes who cant get anything on their own so they have to steal it. Hopefully everything works out for you and you get a replacement. Again sorry to hear what happened to you. Trust me I know how you feel.

Hey bro, sorry to hear about it. Last year, my car got broken into and they stole my laptop, my gym clothes (I hope they enjoyed the smell), and my music cds. It took me awhile to recooperate because I'm usually low on money but I got a new computer for X-Mas.

I am sorry to hear your loss as well, as I am someone who totally understand. My apartment was broken into last year(twice really).

When I came home and seen my door and walked in as if someone moved me out of my apartment while I was in class, my heart just dropped.

As others have said, I hope you had insurance, because I didn't.

I have since moved out and bought a house.

Before the break-in, I had a thread in the home theater area and when it happened, I talked about it. Some time after that I was sooooo depressed I had my thread deleted.

I ended up starting another and talked about what happened and what I planned to do to make up for what happened.

They stole my main theater stuff and bedroom things also. Here is a small pic of my main they stole.(and that was a 65")

If you want to kind of read thru my thread, here is it https://forum.blu-ray.com/home-theat...new-start.html

My advice and not everyone is the same, to make up for the lost, just make sure you get everything that was better then before.

That's what I did, I didn't have any insurance, but I went out and bought almost everything better.

My girl pretty much surprised me or tried to make me feel better and bought me some of the same stuff, it helped, but the better items, made me feel alot better.

If you view my gallery, you will see my upgrades.

Thanks. We do have insurance and I am definitely planning to upgrade on a few things. I am just mostly disappointed that my PS3 was taken and it was a 60GB model. I don't really back up my PS3 quite often, so I guess I will have to start over in some of the games. I started Red Dead Redemption almost a month ago and nearly finished it until they came in to steal everything. However, I will probably buy the PS3 Slim Move Bundle and the LN46C750. There's about 8 ft in between the couch and table where I am going to place it. Is 46" good? I had a 40" and it was somewhat small, but I didn't complain much.

Honestly I am still hurt about my PS3, I had the same one you are talking about. I spent so much money on that one. The 60gb had everything in it.
I didn't bother to replace my 360 yet. I have the 250gb slim now and I do like it.

In my bedroom, I had a 37" and went to a 40" and loved the slight improvement, but now, I really wish I had gone to the 46". You said somewhat small and that sounds like you were not as happy as you kinda say, so to make up for the break-in and that itty bitty complaint about the 40"...... Get the 46" or bigger if you can. Believe me it will make you feel soooo much better about the improvements over what was taken.

I made some very large jumps with my main theater, the DLP to Plasma is one that I love alot. I also do love my move from the Klipsch to the Monitor Audio speakers I have.

****** EDIT *****

It's good that you have insurance and your gonna feel like they are messing over you, but just still be happy you had it. I didn't and I felt like a complete fool. Part of my making up for it was just going out and starting over. I was sooo hurt from it all.

From the time they stole everything, bought alot of stuff and stored it at friends houses, buying my house and hooking all the new stuff up.... Took about 7-8 months, seem like it was longer, but when I connected everything, it felt like it was only days ago.

You know, it is September. You might just want to wait until November and see what deals they have on Black Friday. Especially if you replace the PS3. Best Buy always has bundles around Christmas time, which include a 40"-46" Sony HDTV and a PS3, all for the same price as the TV. So, you're essentially getting the PS3 for free. Not to mention all the PS3 bundles that come out during Christmas time. Every store bundles in different games and movies with the PS3.

I've been thinking about that, but November is still a little long for us as we have no sort of entertainment. We might look at that, but we're not sure quite yet. It depends how long it will take for the insurance to send out the checks.

Given the price of electronics, especially T.V.'s, and the replacement value that insurance companies give you..... you'll probably make out like a bandit.....

I'd keep my eyes open for good deals, and use this as an opportunity to go B I G

EDIT:

Was your car "o.k." when you got it back?
