There are a ton of companies that produce the blu-ray so I am listing the big ones but if there is one you would like to point out go ahead. What studio makes the best blu-ray in your option with audio and video both providing both good video, good surround sound.

Source material will limit any release. Criterion consistently releases very good to excellent discs including some of the best Live-action releases available. |

If this is a joke, then I don't get your humor. In other words, you couldn't have said anything more wrong.

[QUOTE=kpkelley;3725268]And yet you nominate the studio that released the original Gangs of New York disc and a mis-framed POTC.
Okay, I wasn't aware of the fact that POTC was mis-framed. Which part? and has the problem been corrected? |

Yes,... the PotC problem was corrected.
Yes, My Criterion Blus and DVD often look a bit poor but that's because of the source material they have to work with. The Criterion DVD of Walkabout was pathetic (amazingly bad, non-animorphic widescreen, sourced from Laserdisc) and the Blu Ray is better but doesn't compare PQ-wise to Enchanted or Dead Man's Chest or just about anything from Disney actually. I have a handfull of Criterion Blus and the movies themselves are great but the Picture and Audio quality is often sad but likely the best they could do with what they had. If you want to think otherwise then that's fine. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 09-09-2010 at 10:15 PM. |

even though Fox had it's problems with 'Patton', they seem to take their time with their releases - even if it's on the slow side.
Disney Universal - even though 'Spartacus' should have more time and attention to it's hidef transfer Sony |

Sony when will Das Boot be available.
Universal except Mulholland Drive isn't out. Disney Paramount could have been higher if they didn't have made the audio mistake on Saving Private Ryan or the fowled up the PQ on the first Gladiator disc. Fox releases are usually pretty good the only reason they are not on my main list is the price of their catalog films and the lack of special features on a lot of discs, and the disappointment that was Predator UHE PQ. |
