Default Subscribtions

I know that the bandwidth on the site has been skyrocketing. Have you thought about doing a yearly or lifetime subscription to the site to help out with costs. I know that many other sites offer this and I am sure there are many here that would help as well.

There could be some perks for those that help as well.

Just a idea.

I hope this site doesn't turn into an AVS-like site. If it does then I might not return.

There are many others out there that do this. And nobody is forcing anybody to do it either. DBStalk has been doing it for years and if you have any of the small dishes it is the best resource out there. That is who I was thinking of not the other site mentioned.

i love this site and check it regularly but if i had to pay to do so, im not so sure that i would continue... also, I like how it is because new people that are curious with questions can get them answered without having to pay anything

i don't think he's suggesting you pay to come to the forum. i believe he wants to show support by paying a subscription, in which case he could maybe get access to a paying only forum, bigger pm box, etc etc

i see nothing wrong with it and would probably pay for the added luxury, whatever that could be

You got it. It is a way of showing support for those that run the site and helping them offset the costs if you see fit to do so.

Maybe SONY would like to contribute to the costs? I mean it's all about Sony anyway isn't it? A site like this may be the make or break item that makes them zillionaires.

Like Iceman has said before, the best way to support the site is by using the Amazon referal links and to join the Blu-ray.com Folding@Home team.

We currently have no need for or plans to add any type of subscriptions. As Aaron already said in this thread, if you want to help us out simply use the Amazon-links when you purchase movies and that should be enough to help us pay for the servers/hosting/bandwidth/etc.
