Today is the last day with my current job.

Just got out of my managers office and she told me today is my last day. I'll be moving across the hall to the Credit Bureau dept starting Monday.

If you don't see me online as usual, I'll be in training which sucks.

As far as I know it's a lateral business move.

My current dept made some changes, and they did a swap between me and another associate. Don't ask me why.

Yeah, you should consider yourself lucky. A lot of people these days are having trouble finding work.

I'm sorry to hear your situation!

In 2008 when everything went downhill. My friends/co-workers lost their jobs. It was a sad day.
Only a few of them were able to find another jobs later that year, but it was very tough on all of us. Including me.

They won't fire you for asking. But they won't give you an increase if you don't ask either.

I'm sorry to hear about you guys with the job trouble. My dad was out of work for 9 months, and when he lost his job I took a second part time here at school, and he is STILL only part time, so I am here, over qualified and underpaid, but I am loathe to release these secure jobs for the chance of something else.

Lateral move can get 10% sometimes. Stock options are not worth it unless you are getting a large volume and then you still need to wait a year before you can sell.
